This past Sunday I took my camera out to my backyard hoping to get some candid shots of my kitties, and look what I saw in the clearing next to my yard!

He wouldn't let me get too close, so these are full zoom and cropped. Sacrificed some resolution in the process, but what luck!

Wow! He's a beauty!
We have a little wildlife preserve in our yard. We live in the middle of a small city, and in the small patch of woods between our house and the businesses on the other side live a family of 5 deer, a family of red foxes, one big, fat racoon, several huge bunnies, and numerous possums, squirrels and birds. I am sure there are a bunch that we have not seen.
During the last hurricane that hit here, a squirrel took refuge in our storm window, and we heard animals under the house. I love this house, (even if it is in Jacksonville NC) it is like a little spot of country without having to drive forever to get to it.
