I finally went out and was able to buy myself a new vacuum - I'm so excited!

The one I've been using for the past year was one thats as old as I am, or older! I remember my Grandma using it when I was little!

So, I went to Shopko and stood in the vacuum isle for about 45 minutes, checking them all out....( I never knew there were so many kinds!! )

I finally find the one that was in my budget - The Hoover Bagless EmPower Widepath. I LOVE IT!!! It was on sale from $150 to only $60
Came with all the super fun hoses and stuff too! AND... the best part, its a really pretty bright green colour

I came home and fired it up right away as Harley went to play in the super huge new box... (yeah, like I'm gonna be able to get rid of that now!
) And it works awesome, I can't believe all the icky stuff I pulled outta my carpet!
The carpet is a lot softer too, I don't think the person that lived here before me cleaned much, the carpet was icky!!

I sure pulled a lot of hair outta the carpet from Harley tho! Yikes!!

I just had to share my excitement with you all, as I know when John gets home, he won't care much as I know you all will

I'm off to vacuum more!

That's a bargain and a half, Mackenzie!!

I'm desperately in need of a new hoover, but they are all just so expensive!! I'm hoping to get my LL to get a new one for us as our present one deposits all the much once I turn the power off!

Happy hoovering!

I want one too!!

The one I REALLY wanted was $600! (My checkbook was begging me to stay away from it
)

I vacuumed for about 2 hours last night,
I went over to a friends house afterwards and he thought I was nuts! And then he told me I could come clean his carpets anyday
Hey, any reason to use the new vacuum, right?

I got a Dyson Animal a couple of months ago and everytime I vacuum, which is several times a week, it pulls up a whole other cat out of the carpet!

I want a dyson soooo badly! I am a neat freak and never feel like the carpets are clean enough. Fiance won't budge on giving me his approval for this purchase (we always agree on big purchases or we don't get them). We only have carpet in the bedrooms and he says he just can't justify spending that much for the ability to clean those 3 rooms
I argued that I can use it on the wood floors too, but he says those floors aren't going to become any cleaner than they will with any other vacuum

This is the one I got - the pretty green!

I'm kinda depressed now, I didn't know they had red and blue! They only had green at the store, I want an orange one!

Congrats to you on your new vacum. I would love to have a new one, or a steam cleaner-I would use that thing once a week
DH did buy me a new vacum like 2 yrs ago for Xmas(bagless Hoover) and the darn thing quit like a month afterwards!! So we went back to using this ancient one his mom had given him years ago. LOL....I mean it does the job, dont get me wrong..I just want another one. And those Dyson ones would be lovely.

Congratulations! Glad there's someone else who gets excited about a new vacum cleaner! I bought an Oreck with some money my parents gave me for Xmas and was so excited I vacumed everyday for two weeks. I don't get quite that carried away anymore, but still have fun using it!

A McDork???
That sounds like something you get at McDonalds!

I have a lime green vacuum! It's the Eureka Optima Lightweight... it's only 10lbs....and has an adjustable handle so you don't have to bend (no more back aches!) And the lime green color has sparkles in it! Oh, yeah, it works good too.... it's good on hard wood floors (that's what I have) and the large sectional rugs I have... here's the link if you wanna check it out:

Oh how I love vacuum talk. I just bought a new one a couple weeks ago too...And Kenz I totally know the feeling of spending the 45 minutes in the vacuum isle! MAN! I musta been there forever. It's nice that they put them so close together to compare easiler. I started off on the cheap side of the isle, and then sllooowly made my way to more expensive ones. lol.

I got one kind of like yours with the "turbo paw"
for pet hair. But yea, I also totally know what it's like to come home and vacuume with the new one. The darn thing STILL gets full every time I vacuume. It's crazy how much damage an old, non-working vacuume can do over time. lol

Our old vacuum was so old it had an option on there for "Shag". No kidding.
