The kittens are just over a month old now. Little McBethie is chowing down on Kitten Glop while MacSter is still nursing. I had a scare this morning, I put mom's food down (wet) and went to clean boxes and when I came back MacBethie was eating the wet along with mom! I scooped her up as she was showing signs of choking, and then she got sick all over me.
She acted like she had something stuck in her throat (probably a chunk of cat food) and so I got the syringe and gave her little bits of warm water. She was still lurching her neck and I thought, oh no, we are not going to lose you, so I got out her old bottle and fed her slowly until she worked the chunk down....phew! That was to close for comfort so now Mom gets fed up on top of the counter. I watched her carefully tonight and she is fine. Not a good scare!

MA, does he show any signs of labored breathing at all? Or any other "out of the ordinary" signs? The only reason I ask is because they can usually get down wet food at that point. Just want to make sure he's okay

There were shreds of boiled chicken in it as well and i think that might of been what got her. I am glad she is eating on her own, but her brother won't even try it. I have put it all over his paws, in his mouth and he just turns away. I know he is still young, but I thought he would be all over FOOD because he is such a big kitty!

That must have been an awful scare. I am glad she is doing better!
It is a good thing you knew what to do!
