Mort crossed the bridge this morning

My very special little girl died today. She has been with me for 17 years. She has seen me through ups and downs, failed marriages, and happiness. She was my very special soul cat. Mort had been suffering from CRF for the past year. Her little body couldn't take it anymore, and she started failing yesterday. I am going to miss her so much.

When she was a kitten she came to me when I was in my yard, and laid on my lap. She slept on my lap while I petted her. I loved this little kitten, and I didn't know where she came from. One of the neighbors told me she came from a home down the road where the man tried to kill his wife. He was in jail and she was in the hospital. She chose me to be her guardian. I felt blessed.

I made a promise to Mort that I would take good care of her for the rest of her life.

God bless you as you mourn the loss of your sweetheart cat. It is so hard to part with them because they are so much a part of us and our lives. Your friends here know what you are going through and we all will be thinking of you and saying prayers.

It is so hard to let them go, even when they have had a wonderful life that has now drawn to a natural end. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about Mort - I think you kept your promise 110% though, and hopefully in time you will be pleased and proud that you gave her 17 wonderful years, and also that you let her go when it was her time, rather than make her linger on, that truly does mean a lot. I agree, Mort did chose wisely. You truly loved her for 17 years, and now she is at peace. May your memories bring you comfort at this difficult time!

Mort did, indeed, choose wisely when she came to you. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss of Mort. This special kitty obviously knew he was loved totally. It is hard losing a pet like yours, especially after so many years. He will be waiting for you.

Mort did choose wisely, she had long life with you
