Oh im glad everything is working out ok for you right now. It must have been very scary seeing ur kitty in pain and such a worry thinking that something might be wrong.Originally Posted by Godiva
Okay, so we have two kittens right now. She has three more coming. The first one was VERY tiny, and the second looks to be a lot more developed.. more fur, bigger head, etc...
I did go the ER vet because the water sac broke, and it was breached... and she strained for another good 45 minutes after I posted here. I called and they said she might need some help. The vet said the kittens' heads are huge. The water broke for the second one, and the techs didn't think to go tell the vet, so the vet was very concerned and came rushing in with oxytocin two hours later. She thought we might have lost the second one, but it is still alive... albeit with purple feet. They got stuck in the birth canal. The vet said the kitten may lose some of the skin off the feet, but that they should eventually be okay.I know it's no one's fault, but it still makes me a little mad. They were busy and all.
Oh, and they are solids-- buff/beige color, which could be a lilac, buff, or blue... I guess we'll have to wait a few weeks to see how they turn.
this lump you mean i think i felt it this morning boots babys were moving like mad and she was all over me wanting stroked then i felt this big long lump down by her end back and her tummy was really hard then it went away shes moved off chair and went to lie on floor now should i keep a eye out on this or just let her be??Originally Posted by bengalbabe
It sounds like she's in labor. When she gets up, check her sides. See if a hard lump rises up, stays for a few seconds and then goes down. Every time she has a contraction she will turn over or get up. She'll probably have them by tonight or early morning.
The kittens moving furiously is another sign she's about to have a contraction. Notice that they will move like crazy right before she gets up or turns over.
Im officially on kitten watch myself. I have one queen who I think is in early labor now and another queen who is due in 5 days. It will be a loooong week!
