well, the kittens are going to start going to their homes this next week. I am glad I have found homes for all of them (we are keeping one...), but I am feeling so guilty about separating them from their mom and their sibs. I have put a towel in there for them to sleep on so I can cut it up and send it "home" with them. What else can I do to help them make the transition?

Can you arrange for them to all go to their new homes on the same day?? That way all the kittens say bye on the same day. Also...explain to all the adoptors to give these kittens some time to adjust to their new homes. BTW...if you need a contract to use with the adoptors to follow up on spaying/neutering, let me know.

unfortunately, I cannot have them all go at once (I am holding on to one til the person comes back from vacation, since we did not want him to go home and then be left). Everyone that is taking one has agreed to neuter/spay them, so I think we are ok. I know them all personally (lucky thing having a small litter) so I can keep an eye on them and make sure they get them in.

Since I am keeping one, I am not sure how to deal with mom. I am going to bring her in to get her spayed and then see how she warms up to us. She is getting more comfortable with us (actually coming out when I feed them etc) but she is still fairly scared of us (hissing etc if we get too close). However, I have seen some postive signs.. last night she came into the house (from the garage) on her own. I really like her, so I am hoping we can work with her and get her somewhat social.
