it is a legal version but you will only be able to install it once - you know when you buy a new computer and it has MS office already installed - that is a OEM copy
The packaging and legal rights that come with the OEM versions of a software package generally differ from what is provided with the retail versions. The functionality of the software is often the same, but it is quite common for the OEM version to be a version with reduced functionality. (For instance the OEM version of Cyberlink PowerDVD supports two-channel audio but not multi-channel sound systems. A customer who wishes to play DVDs with multi-channel sound is required to pay to upgrade to the full version).
Just check with them that it is in fact the full version and it should be fine

This is what it says about it... I guess it's ok then, But I'd like an opinion I dont want to waste my money
I'm to good at that already

OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer
OEM software is a full version (non-upgrade) which includes the CD-ROM and the product key codes. These elements are all you will need to load and run the software. The software runs exactly the same way as the full retail version (including automatic updates). The differences between OEM Vs Retail Box are:
1. OEM does not come in a box.
2. OEM is only licensed for one computer.
3. OEM is not transferable.
4. OEM cannot be used to upgrade.
5. Microsoft does not supply free technical support or installation support for OEM.

OEM is the full software version, but it is cheaper because it doesn't come in the fancy package. Theoretically it's supposed to be sold with hardware, although it isn't always.

I just have to say that I have been a faithful lurker in this thread and my goodness - you guys are all fabulous! The siggies are just gorgeous! If I wasn't so blasted busy with my real life, I would love to come play and make some sigs too. If the thread is still going mid-August I'll have to come play with you then...

Well, if I were you, I'd spend the extra money and get the non OEM version, because chances are, you might want to get a new computer in the future, or there is also a chance that you may need a new hard drive at some point. I have Photoshop 7.01, which isn't even the latest version of Photoshop and even used on ebay, it's still about 3 times more expensive that Phtoshop Elements. New, it costs $700. So, even at $90, Elements is a bargain. You can also get a new version of Paint Shop Pro for around $90. A lot of people use that program, one of which is Cagnes, and she makes some of most beautiful Signatures around. Of course if you just want to test the waters and see how you like it, I'd say go for the cheaper version. You can always buy another one at the same price, if you get a new computer.

Thanks Everyone for the help, If I get that photoshop elements, your reward is a good laugh when I try to use it
But it will be cheap enough that I can afford the laughs

And all the siggy's are so wonderful, such talent...Maybe I'll try, but I would be better at decorating your home I think
we'll see

Adobe lets you download a free 30 day trial of the program at www.adobe.com. Why don't you try that first before you spend the money on it?

By the time I sort through what it's all about the free trial will be up
It may be to overwheling for me not sure, I have a hard time sitting still for very long
My Family all says I'm like a jack rabbit
Thanks

I'll be happy to help in any way I can, but remember I know Photoshop. I'm not that familiar with Photoshop Elements. I gather they're very much the same. I'm just assuming Elements has a few less capabilities. However, what you would use it for to make a Signature is probably the same.

Don't worry, the first time I saw Photoshop, I got so frustrated I almost cried. I just HATED it, because it was so hard and confusing. Now, I LOVE it. Couldn't live without it. It takes a little time and patience, but believe me, it's well worth it. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Don't be afraid to mess things up. It's all part of the learning process.

I am still learning, I have Photshop Elements and you can do lots with it.
One bit of advice I would offer is to save and make copies often, then if you do mess it up you haven't got to go right back to the start again.

Oh My goodness
This is a tad intimadating...You guys need to knock it off with all the great siggy's
I don't think I even have a clue where to start
maybe I'll just go shopping that would be less stressful, This won't be easy for me because I just want to do it, not have to read everything
But I guess I'll just get up from here and then come back and read the information
I can't just give up not in me. I'm one if I can learn it I'll be fine, but I also would rather sit by someone and have them show me, that makes it easier...I'll have to get Lessons
That's how I learned to do alot of things I don't have a clue about..
So anyhoooooooo I"LL BE BACK
Maybe not with this program but to Enjoy what you all do, Great Idea about just trying that program.

When I downloaded the free trial, I gave up on making sigs, and used it to correct a few of my photographs. It was later, after I had the software that I finally "got" it.

I usually use Photoshop to make my signatures. For your signature, I first used Bryce 3D to create the beach/ocean background. Then I saved it as a PSD (Photoshop file) and did the rest of the work in Photoshop.

I dont usually download stuff. Does it cost money to download photoshop? Is there anything that you can download similar to that, that's free?
