Like everyone else said, try online...if you want to find a woman to date...I used match.com cause at the time I was a single mother in the Air Force (therefore--no time for finding a date elsewhere).

I've been happily married for 4 years in August. And we share a son together (and he's virtually adopted my little girl since her bio dad is not in the picture).

Things will come around for you Keith! Don't worry. I'll keep you in my prayers.

We got married when he was 44 years old and he is now 45 (he turned 45 one month after we were married). It was both our first marriage. He couldn't be happier... and guess what? He's GLAD he had to wait so long for me... He learned a lot about himself and about life in that time. It may seem like the wait is long... but guess what? It is better than settling for someone you wouldn't want to spend your life with, that's the truth, because if you just settled you would be miserable.

And in case you are wondering... I was 24 when we married... Yes, that's a full 20 years difference. I don't care, don't mind and it really doesn't bother me. He's my best friend, the best man I could ask for... There is NOTHING wrong with liking people younger than you. I happen to like people older than me that's all. (Ya know which actor I think is hot? Michaell Caine... hehehe)

I told you my DH's story to let you know... she's there... she just maybe taking her time. God just might be making sure you REALLY want her is all

Best of Luck hon... and if you need anyone to talk to let me know, if you prefer to talk to my DH I'm sure he wouldn't mind encouraging you.
Wow, I can relate to this message! I quit dating when I was 30, decided to try again at 39, met my future dh on a forum, and despite his living over 3,000 miles away and being almost 14 years younger than I, we married within the year. First marriage for us both, and I am so very happy I didn't settle, and waited for this meant for me fellow.

It is the hardest thing in the world to do when you are unhappy and longing for something you don't have, but doing what you love as a single person, being busy with things that interest you, is one of the best ways to eventually meet someone.

Where are other men like you? You are wonderful. Please don't be depressed. Be happy that you have morals and want quality not quantity.
As for online dating, I wouldn't recommend it. I personally have not been that much into it before I met Eric but if you have a deep heart and soul, then you might find it a bit...well, stifling, superficial, and hurtful. My gut says it's not the best match for you unless you go for a more comprehensive site like E-harmony or something of that sort. What might be a match is joining organizations that are of genuine interest to you. Cats, wildlife, social services - volunteer work (as if you don't already give tons of time!) and or a book group if you read. Being where you are in California might be a bit remote-? Are you up in the Sierras?

You sound like a great guy and I know you have been on TCS awhile from when you lived in Portland, so I wish nothing bust the best for you!!!

Not the Modesto/Merced area but the San Luis Obispo area. And yes we are going to hit over a 100 hear this week. Not to uncommon for us.

5 hours considering the LA traffic - 3 to 4 if good.

Actually, Big Bear is in the mountains of So. California, above Redlands and San Bernardino. Big Bear valley has about 20,000 regular residentsa, so, yes, it is a bit remote. It's about an hour down the hill to drive.

I really miss Portland, and although I told myself I'd move back to finish doing all the things I didn't do, I'm just going to take about 2 months off and do it instead. I don't feel like moving out of state for 2-3 years and then moving out of state again to TN. (Tentively)

You are kidding?? I LOVE the SLO area. I lived there in '91 with my girlfriend while attending Cuesta College. My mom and stepdad live in Paso. Beautiful area. Morro Bay ROCKS!!!

First of all, I believe in the "when you're not looking" business. I was having a miserable time with relationships so I decided to just devote my time to me. I started spending time with a co-worker who became my husband a year later.

His brother was horribly depressed by the women he was dating (poor BIL attracted some psychos
) but he got involved with something else and soon after met his fiance. He's going to be 46 this year and they will be married in the fall.

So hang in there and we'll help you through the
times. And you have goals which is very good.
And BTW, everyone is allowed a few funks.
