Not that it's anything dire, but I'm somewhat concerned. We got Isis a week ago. Jade, my oldest kitten, is around 5 months old. She was VERY active till Isis came home. I've introduced them and they play VERY well together and get along, but Jade just isn't Jade anymore. She's lazy, doesn't play as much, and won't sleep with us in bed hardly anymore. Anyone have an ideas or been in the same situation? I'm hoping it's something she will grow out of. I know all kittens/cats are different but does anyone have any comments or ideas? Thanks a bunch!

I don't really have much advice, just empathy for your situation...

I brought Leo into our house about 3 weeks ago, and Lilly had a similar response. She's a year old, and Leo is 3 months. It only took 4 days to get them totally introduced, and they got along well. Lilly even "mothers" Leo by cleaning him. However, I noticed Lilly was more aloof and not as affectionate with me (i.e., wouldn't come to the door when I came home, didn't come around for much attention, not purring a lot like usual, etc.).

It took Lilly about 2 1/2 weeks to get back to being more of her "old self," but I've noticed this week that she seems to be exhibiting her usual behaviors again. I just gave her lots of attention when she came around for it, and give her time when Leo is isolated so she can have run of the house.

I understand your concern that Jade just doesn't seem herself, but I bet it's just going to take her some time to adjust to sharing her space. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I've started to kinda give them seperate affection times and then times when they are together. My fiance and I both absolutly adore them! Today I left Isis at home and took Jade on a car ride to DQ! lol. I'm hoping we have similar situations and that Jade is back to normal soon. Jade also mothers Isis
it's something to see isn't it? lol
