So the Nedicks girl had her ultrasound yesterday to determine whether she had any large stones that require surgery. Good news! She doesn't need an operation! She does still have some sediment in her bladder, but the vet seems confident that she will pass that on her own. I have to bring her back in 6 to 8 weeks, when she has been off antibiotics for a while, so they can culture her urine and see if she has any chronic infection. The vet suggested that if I could get a sample myself, though, I wouldn't have to bring her back. Anyone have any experience doing that sort of thing in a multiple cat household? How difficult is it?

Am pleased to hear she doesn't have to have an operation. I have had to get urine samples out of cats - I normally shut them in a separate room. Only prob with Tom is that he has got wise to this, so has to go to the vets for the day when his needs doing, as he woudl rather sit for 5.5 hours (not good in a cat with cystitis) rather than have a wee!! He has even been known to jump on the sofa to get at the normal tray than use the one with special litter!! Good luck, and hopefully yours will be a bit more co-operative.
