Catmom....just a couple of questions that will hopefully assist us. How many kittens did she have total?? Was this a situation where you were trying to breed her to another russian blue or did she accidentally get outdoors and become pregnant? My questions are geared to try to assit in determining what could be going on...my first thought is to get both mom and her kitten into a vet to ensure that this one is healthy.

I would keep an eye on mom and the kitten. How old is she?? Also, if you are a new breeder, I would recommend that you introduce yourself in the breeder's corner.

Mine did this for the first couple of days, she would accidently lay on one to two when she would lay down to nurse them. The second her head them squeal she would get up, and lay down again so that she was no longer laying on anyone. If your momma cat moves when the kittens cry then there is no worry, but if she stays on them when they cry then you will want to be near by as much as possible, because kittens can die from being smothered like that.
