I know the movie isn't due to be released until July 21, but we were able to see a press screening of Clerks II yesterday here in Denver. There were only about 25-30 people there, including a studio rep and press. We felt pretty honored to be included in such a small "test" audience.

Here's the (Approved for All Audiences) trailer: http://a.clevver.com/video/18852/clerks-ii-trailer.php

If you've seen the previews, you know that this really is a sequel to Clerks, Kevin Smith's first movie made on a shoestring budget that took the indie film world by storm and created a huge cult following (which were followed by more mainstream "hits" of Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jersey Girl). Dante and Randall are now 10 years older and still "Clerks", only now they are working at the fast-food joint Moobies (which you're familiar with if you've seen Dogma or Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back), and Dante is on the verge of getting married. That's where the story starts, and it goes on from there.
(Don't want to give out any spoilers.
)

Let me just say...If you're a Kevin Smith fan, don't miss this movie! Dante and Randall are older and (mostly only slightly) more mature, and the movie is as well. Yes, there is still the "shake your head in disbelief" scenes, which always come out hilarious when Kevin writes it. Yes, there is still the vulgarity and potty sex humor. And yes, there are a lot of inside jokes from the past movies that the fans will appreciate. It IS a Kevin Smith movie!

But there is also something...more. There is more depth to this movie than any of his previous movies, even with the potty humor. So basically, even if you aren't a Kevin Smith fan, or haven't seen his previous movies - this one is worth seeing. There aren't many movies I walk out of wanting to see it again. This one I did. We'll be seeing it again on opening day, laying out cold, hard cash even though we were able to see it for free. And we may just see it more than once!

Will Kevin Smith and Jason Mews (Mewes?) be reprising their roles as Jay and Silent Bob?
I've seen all the movies. Jersey Girl was okay. Clerks was the best one. I only saw Mallrats once, so that tells me something. I remember really liking chasing amy. Dogma was pretty good. Jay & Silent bob strike back was pretty funny though I found some of the humor low brow but of course laughed away. I'm glad Randall is back, he was the funniest character in clerks.

I don't think anyone could or would be able to play Jay and Silent bob except for Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith. Could you imagine anyone else?? For someone else to take over their roles would be such a disgrace to the movie.

there are three clips (family friendly for the most part) located here: http://ropeofsilicon.com/features/20...index.php?id=3

Over all (infact all of them), the film is getting great reviews and of course the fans love it. The nay sayers who haven't seen it are sending it to the junk pile (and declaring that he sold his soul to hollywood), but I personally think this was Kevin's best film ever. Btw, in case this has crossed anyones mind, do NOT bring your childern to this film... 16 and older will be okay, other then that, DON'T. There is a reason why it's rated R. Just trust me on this one.

That's get great that you dig it so much! I saw a special screening for Kevin's fans back in May and obviously we all loved it with a passion - so it's nice to see someone else counting the days to see it again!

I absolutely loved the end of the movie - it throws you a total curve ball and ends up being probably one of the most heartfelt things Kevin has ever done! I plan on seeing it several times once it's officially out too!

If I can help sway you... you don't need to have seen the first movie to enjoy this new one - basically they tell you everything you need to know and that is Dante and Randal (the Clerks in question) have been working the same dead end job for ten years!

And out of all of Kevin's movies this is the one that definately has to be a theatre-going experience! The audience reaction is half the fun - especially in this movie as there are so many shocks and outrageously funny moments!

That's me salesman bit done! If you decided to check it out I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
