That is great news! He'll probably always be a little skittish and won't need human companionship so much, at least for a few years. My shelter kitty Bandit was that way, and she was pretty wild when we got her. Now, she's our sweetest cat, but only when she comes to you.

The two boys seem to be becoming friends. I went in there to check on them and they are sleeping together on the comforter I put on the floor.

Since they are both black, it's hard to see that the little kitten is snuggled up in there too.

Here's a little better angle.

That last picture is priceless! Looks like the new baby is back there being protected by Yoda, too cute! How lucky he is you came along when you did...

Yeah Yoda is definitely becoming the protective big brother already. Earlier when I was in there....I was petting the kitten and Yoda snapped at me and then snapped at the kitten. I guess he thinks he should always be the center of attention.
But he's actually very gentle with the kitten. It's amazing how quickly they took to each other.

Aww darlin, take him to a vet and have his little eyes checked out for Herpes or Conjunctivitious. They look a little bad in the pictures. I've treated a ton of foster kitties for it, a lot of the signs go unnoticed if you don't know what to look for ...but his seem aweful red and runny. I'd have the vet take a good luck at him to rule out any med. issues. I'm so glad you found the little guy and are giving him such a loving home. You're so sweet to take him in! Good luck with him! He's lucky to have you taking care of him!!!

Good on you!! He might always be a bit shy, but he looks as though he's really coming around, and Yoda looks like a fantastic big brother!

I really hope your daughter takes him

I agree with Starry - his eyes look a little funny, and should probably be checked out if you're able to.

Amazing what having someone of your own age and species to talk to does for your comfort level. Yoda is a great big brother! Super cute pics.

His eyes are fine really. He just squints when he is looking at me. I took him to the vet immediately after finding him in the road and they checked out everything. He's healthy and disease free.

Hi Nikki! Are you having fun in Norway?

Yeah, you know me.....I should put a sign on our front door that reads

"KITTY MISSION: ALL DOWN ON THEIR LUCK KITTIES WELCOME."

Nikki, did you read the story about how I got the kitten? It was really scary!

Promise you.....I did take him to the vet and spent $270 there! They checked out everything. It turned out to be a much more expensive trip than I had planned.

Aww.. that's sad.
I'll try to get them to the vet out here sometime. The last few times I took a walk to see them and feed them, they weren't even around.

Well I'll probably be eating bologna sandwiches for the next two weeks! But what choice did I have? I couldn't just drive by and leave that little kitten sitting in the middle of the road where he would have surely died.

One thing that my boyfriend said to me that sticks in my mind... when I was talking about how much money I was going to have to spend:

"The life you save may be an angel."

If you ever have the opportunity to save a life......you HAVE to do it. That's my philosophy.

Ahhhh he's a doll, I know how they can be for sure, I rescued 8 from a busy shopping center parking lot year before last, and last year I finally got the last one she had 5 baby girls with her and was pregrant again, I took all of them to the vet, had them completely taken care of. Also the 8 from the 1st group.
Of course I kept Mamma, and 3 of the girls they are in my siggy along with Miniman and Dunkin, I found homes for 2 of the girls. and then I just couldn't give the rest of them up.
What a wonderful thing you did for this little guy
mine were very scared the only thing that really helped me was I had been feeding all of these guys who are related except Dunkin for a year by the time I finally got sissy and the babies, I had at least earned that trust from them, they used to run out from everywhere when they saw my car,
I have 8 and 6 of those were part of that group I Love them Dearly and I couldn't ask for anymore Love from them, they are the greatest..I hope he has a wonderful life because of you and your Daughter and I'm sure in time he'll be one Great Loveing kitty.
Sissy, miniman, ziggy, zazzy, zinger are all for the same family, They all look alike
.. Some one just dumped Dunkin there I think they saw me feeding them and just dumped him and i don't know how anyone could do that..You saved that baby's life and it does make your heart feel good Doesn't it.

Well the new kitten is still being incredibly shy and trembled again this morning when I held him. I wonder how long it will take before he'll begin to feel safe with me? He acts like he's scared to look at me. He hides his face all the time. Even when I'm holding him, he'll hide his face in my arm and then start trembling. It's so sad.

Yeah Susie....like I said....I need to hang out a sign in the front of my house saying that this is the Kitty Mission! LOL

Did you read the story on how I found this little guy? OMG it was so scary! I literally thought I'd have nightmares about it. Even now I just keep picturing that poor tiny baby sitting in the middle of the road while cars were swerving and dodging him. And even while I was running into the road to save him, I was so scared that a car would come along and run over him and I'd SEE it happen! I'd never be able to get over something like that. I just thank God that I was able to get to him in time. I think it took me over an hour before my heart rate went back down to normal.
