Jamie called me last night at about 11:30 (I coulda strangled her) to give me an update on the kitten. It scared me at first for her to be calling me that late. But she just wanted to tell me that the kitten had come out of hiding and was running around her apartment, checking things out and playing with Yoda. She said that he ate good for her and drank plenty of water. She was also laughing about how he "wags" his tail like a dog. I said, "Yeah I noticed that he was doing that too." He seems to do that when he's happy and relaxed......just like a dog.

I'm going to go over there in a little while and check on them. I'll try to get some more pictures.

I went over to Jamie's yesterday to check on the baby. He's doing well! Still a little scared....but he did come out to play with Yoda for awhile when I was over there. I also gave him his antibiotic since Jamie is still a little afraid to do that for some reason. Later, Jamie called me and said that the kitten had finally purred for her! She said she was holding him and petting him and he just started purring really loud and looked up at her and gave her that "love" look. She was so excited!

Here's a few pictures from yesterday when I went over there.

This was me giving him his medicine. (Jamie took these pictures)

He didn't like it....so he kinda shook it all over both of us!

Me and the little baby. It's kinda blurry.....but Jamie doesn't know how to use my camera very well yet.

Isn't he a cutie? He's just so tiny!

He's just so sweet, Robin!
That look on him in the second one!! If looks could kill -- he may be a tiny guy, but I'm sure he's a handful when you're trying to get him to take something he doesn't like!

Wow, this is such a great thread

I went back and had a look at the first photos and you can just SEE how much he's relaxed! That's what I love about kittens, they can be a hissy, spitty, fighting machine the first day, and within a few days of love and attention, they're snuggly, purry things
So rewarding!!

Yeah I think this little guy is going to grow up to be a real love bug. I went over there today to check on him and he's still doing well. He runs to hide under the chair whenever he hears a new noise......like when I came in the door. But I was able to get him and give him some good kisses and hugs.

You just can't help but love him when you know what the poor little guy has been through. The abrasions on his face have pretty much cleared up now. I really think, based on where his abrasions were, that he was most likely thrown from a car and rolled across the pavement on his face. That's the only explanation that makes sense because he wasn't run over, (thank God) and yet he was sitting in the middle of the road looking stunned when I found him. I still shudder to think what could have happened if I didn't come along right when I did.

No new pictures today. I didn't get to go over and see him today because Jamie was working all day. But she did call me to give me an update. She said that he's beginning to feel much more comfortable and is coming out to play regularly now. She said that earlier tonight, he managed to climb up on the garbage can and almost fell in when she got to him.

He's also beginning to be more vocal and he just loves his big brother more than anything! Jamie says that he'll sometimes just sit and watch Yoda playing and then tries to copy him. The funny thing is that Yoda thinks the baby is HIS! He gets mad when Jamie tries to pick up the baby and play with him. It's like he thinks, "Hey you got this baby doll for ME....now put him down because he's MINE!"
Then Yoda proceeds to wrap his arms around the little one's neck in a big bear hug and licks him all over. It's just too funny!

Anyway, I'm back to work tomorrow, but I plan on stopping by there after work so I can check on him.

You are such an AWESOME
AWESOME person. How many people would have walked by that poor baby, shook their head and kept going. I really think that what you did was a act of an hero. You are truly a modern day heroine.
The kits look so much alike too they are sure to become more than what each other needed. Stories like this always warm my heart
and really remind me that no matter what the world seems to be coming to there are some great people in this world.

Well I was able to stop over at Jamie's on the way home from work last night and the baby is really coming along! Jamie told me that the other night, she woke up and had BOTH kittens laying on her sleeping!

Last night, I fed them and the baby ate really good, but I had hold Yoda when he finished because he thinks if he eats his dinner really fast, he can also eat the baby's dinner too.
After the baby finished eating and washed his face.....he took off running to the litterbox which is in another room. Jamie said that Yoda has taught him where the litterbox is and they often go together. Haha!

After he had a full tummy and went potty, I held him for awhile and he just purred. He is really beginning to relax. He does still get scared easily though if anyone makes sudden moves or he hears a loud noise. But it's only been a week, so I think he's made tremendous progress. I played with the boys with the mouse and Yoda was doing all the playing at first, but then the baby jumped in and began playing too. It's funny...the baby watches Yoda so intently.....watches his every move and then tries to emulate him. I guess this is what they mean by a "copycat?" But Yoda is such an outgoing, loving kitty, that I think the baby is learning from the best. He looks like a little bobble head when he's watching Yoda. I got such a kick out of him last night sitting there with his ears perked forward and his eyes wide open with his little head bobbling back and forth and up and down while he was watching Yoda's every move.

Anyway, I'll see if I can get some pictures later today.
