Several months have gone by since I conducted a similar poll and I've seen lots of threads with people switching from this type of food to that type, so I think it would be interesting to see what the trends are.
Please vote for one response that fits best for your situation and feel free to comment on why you feed your cat the food that you do.

I feed Kipper & Mush premium stuff for stomach problems. Because Mushi has a "sensitive system" and Kippers poop just stinks horrible.

Both problems fixed. One bag, two happy cats, 2 happy cat owners.

I can't vote for one kind of cat food.
At this time I mix Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul Lite with Nutro products for dry and Fancy Feast wet.
I am thinking about ordering some HealthWise on my next stock up to mix in as I like the Natura products.

I generally try to keep three different dry foods to mix together so they get a healthy variety and don't get stuck in a rut now that they've all become a little more flexible for me. I say that because when I first started trying to switch to a better quality food my crew was proving to be pretty stubborn about going to something better.

Premium canned and dry here - approx 2/3 canned and 1/3 dry.

I've always fed canned and dry but the proportion of dry used to be higher. I've realised recently that I rarely see Jaffa drinking water and as he's a 9 year old neutered male I think it's vital he gets enough water into him. I add a bit extra water to his canned food which he has twice a day.

I really can't vote in this one either.. I feed purina one, pro plan and nutro primarily for dry, and whatever they will eat for wet- unfortonately that usually isn't premium. One cat is the only one really with a interest in human food, and it is usually a small bite of cooked meat or one frozen shrimp.

On my first poll I only had 4 choices, and alot of people had trouble picking, because our cats diets are so diversified. This time I tried to include more choices, but I've under-estimated the diversity once again.
For the next poll I'll really try to have a choice for everyone...and I'll include that all important choice "other"!
For now though, I appreciate your comments and explanations! This information really is important to me as a breeder, because I feed my cats a raw diet with some Kibble and since my kittens go to homes where they may very well get a different diet, I'm trying to get a good grasp on what the majority feed their cats and why.

I voted Premium kibble, but I feed my kitties a mix of kibble and wet pouches (Nutro Natural Choice).

Can you make the poll a multiple choice? If so then that should nearly be able to cover everything.

I've just added it for you. I didn't see a "multiple choice" option, unfortunately.
In general, I feed a variety of premium dry and canned foods, 50:50. I'd prefer to just feed premium canned, but Jamie won't accept that. It was a real struggle getting him to eat any canned food at first. His litter mates all ate canned, but Jamie ate his mama's dry food in the foster home, and he really likes it better.

Thank-you! I didn't think about that when I created the poll, and I couldn't figure out how to add it afterwards...so thanks for including that option for me!

I feed mainly wet - have always fed a mixture, but am unable to leave dry food down all the time cos of Tom, so I just give them a handful of dry for their supper - except Pebbles, who was a dry food only kitty when she came, but most days I get more wet than dry into her, we just have the occasional day where she gets more dry - if it were up to her however, she would have dry only - I have put her on a better food though (ex owner was told the food she bought was the best you could get - had a very poor meat content yet mega expensive)

I feed mine Inova Evo. They seem to thrive on it. I switched trying to isolate Zanders allergies and have stuck with it ever since. Several minor issues seem to disappear while they have been on it.

You're welcome! If you need something edited after the first 24 hours, or can't figure out how to change something, just PM a moderator or administrator.
This poll is interesting. I know we have them periodically, but as you mentioned, "habits" change.
I'm also waiting to see somebody post a long list of cats with a description of each cat's eating habits. A friend has five cats, and all five have their unique preferences.

purina kitten. They love it. Some people on this site have called it junk and tell me to buy nutro, but it is too high priced for me. My vet doesn't object to my choice. There are worse things out there.

I voted raw and canned, but it's such a small amount of canned that I probably should have voted just raw. Nya gets like a teaspoon of wet ontop of each meal.
