I was a little selfish this morning and made myself a siggy. I followed Icklemiss example and tried one of these gifs with the partial transparant background, of my crazy little Zulu boy, Simba.

I made two for you yesterday, and then realized that I'd confused genders! I'll try to rectify it some time this week:

Phoenix's "pinkish" photo threw me off!

I like that, I liked that effect when icklemiss did it. is it very difficult?

No, it's not really difficult. I've been making transparent gifts for a long time. You know like animated gifs for my Paul Stanley Page. You basically make it the same way as any other siggy, but make the background a bit larger than the picture you're going to put on it. What you need to do is make the background a totally different colour than what you will be using on your complete signature, and then make the background colour transparent. I actually use Paint Shop Pro to make my transparent gifs, because I like how easy it is. So what I do is create the siggy in Photoshop and then copy it and paste to to Paint Shop Pro, then pick the colour that is supposed to be transparent, then save it as a transparent gif. Like it truth, the top portion of my gif, when I first made it was a royale blue, then I picked that shade of blue to be transparent and that's all there is to it. The finished gif no longer has any blue in it, and is in fact transparent. I'm sure there are easier ways to do it, but this way works for me.

Oh... and if you're going to attempt making a gif like this, remember to make it quite a bit smaller than a standard sized signature, because the file size of a gif like this is much larger than a regular JPG.

I find it easier to make the background in a 550x115 (ish) box and then transfer it to a 550x134 box and add the kitty so it always is transparent and you aren't cutting out a colour which sometimes means you get a jagged edge depending on the colour you use
