Hello All;

I need help with my situation, I figured why not ask the people with the most experience!!! Here is the situation my girlfriend and I moved in together 3 years ago and adopted 2 tabby brother from a shelter. They have been together since birth, never seperated. One cat has taken a shine to me, the other to her. They play together and clean each other! No fighting ever, except for some minor play.

Here is the issue, my girlfirend and I are going our seperate ways. Is it better to seperate the cats from each other? or split them up?

What is stronger the cat human bond or the cat brother bond?

Wow, that is a tough question! Cats seem to be much happier in pairs. Would either of you consider letting the other have both cats? If not would you consider getting each cat a playmate? This is tough for everyone involved

This is sad. I really feel though that you should keep the cats together if possible. They keep eachother company when their humans are gone from the house.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I was thinking too. They seem so happy together, probably better for them. Besides it seems to keep them out of touble when they occupy each other.

I think that you should keep them together, after all its not their fault that us humans split up. they will probably pine if you separate them. try to keep them in their home.

i agree it would be best to keep the cats together. i know it'll be hard for whoever has to leave them behind, but i think it would be the right thing to do. maybe if you and your gf are parting amicably, the one who doesn't take the cats could still come visit sometimes?

I agree with what the rest said. Cats will mourn the loss of a companion.
