I'm driving down to NY with my cats from Canada and spending a month there. From the websites I've looked at I don't really have to do anything before I go. I do have rabies vaccinations etc for both of them to show when I return. Is there something that I'm missing? Has anyone brought their cats down to the States from Canada and then returned? Any advice?

It's my understanding that you need to be able to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations only.

My advice is to make sure you have any records you have in your possession with you (mostly for you, not the kitty), because border patrol can make you prove anything they feel like making you prove. US customs doesn't require rabies certificates for cats, only for dogs, but says that they must be free of any evidence of disease especially communicable to humans. I think you've done your research though. Have a fun trip!
