I have been noticing every time I pick up my boy kitten his mouth makes a shape of a "meow" but there is no sound coming out of him. Is this something I need to worry about? Also his mouth is open often and a little bit of his tongue is sticking out. He is growing, drinks his mom's milk really good. But with him not meowing and crying, with him having his mouth open a little concerns me. Is this something I need to have the vet check out??

baby not making any sound...Help!

I think it is... How old is the litter now also his toungue out all the time is strange...

he is a week and a half
I would call the vet on it... But I did notice Skittles Kiten I call Lazy didnt make a sound till few days ago... They are 3 weeks Sat..
Sometimes, when you pull a kitten from it's mother's nipple it's toung sticks out... I personally wouldn't worry as long as the kitten was nursing, moving, at a good weight, and all that.
I posted the same thing a few weeks ago. My vet checked the kitty and now thats shes 8 weeks old and still does this I was so worried. Turns out her vocal cords were damaged in the birth canal. She now can meow very quietly but it sounds funny. The vet said she is healthy and their is nothing we can do and she is fine.
That also might be hissing behaviour. (be afraid, be very afraid)

I guess I am just an over worried mom lol. I had no problems with my two litters of kittens last year, I wonder why I am all freaked out and stuff now? lol probably because Angel is a young kitten herself. I will keep watching the kittens and see what happens
