I have 2 young kittens. about 4-5 months. and I would like to be able to take them outside.. maybe take them for walks. just make a fun thing out of it. the problem is I can't find a harness that will fit them this young and I really don't wanna wait to much longer. I want them to waer them around and get used to it before they are ever outside.
So I am wondering is there somewhere online or something where I can buy smaller ones? Will this be harder then I think? Has anyone tried this at all?

BTW I do plan to get them both microchipped before taking them outside.

I love walking my cats on their harness, they love it too.

There is this website where a lady makes collars and harnesses, I saw she had small or extra small (can't remember which one) harnesses, it was something like Ragtime..... ragtime something! LOL! I bet someone will see this and know what I am talking about and give you the link.

Kinsey is too small to fit in her harness too i just attach the leash to her collar. She cant pull her head uut of her collar at all. But its still loose enough to get 2 fingers in easily. Thats due to her big head and skinny neck.

Have you looked at ferret harnesses? I have heard some members here mention they are good for smaller kittens/cat.

Yea, that's a good idea. I was looking at a harness for my frien's buny and we saw one for baby ferrets and adult rats. It would definitly fit any kitten ver 2 months.

I don't know about all Petcos, but ours here does sell Ferret and rodent things, so you could always check there!

Well, you may have to go out of town. I used to live in a really small town and I had to go 45 min out of town for the mall and pet stores and such.

Oh well sorry, I guess you're screwed unless you find some little harness-making elves under a brigde (or shop online) lol. You could just use a collar i guess.

Well, you could always order one online then and try for luck. Wal-mart and K-mart (at least around here) do not sell harnesses of any kind.

I purchased a harness online from Petsmart (closest one is over an hour away), but now have to find a new once cause my cat will find ways out of it when something startles him.

Sorry but that's a really bad idea, cats don't have strong necks like dogs.

I use extra small dog harnesses on the kittens, and small size for cats. The dog harnesses have an extra bar down the chest making it harder to slip out of. Purchased on Ebay.

It's fine it doenst pull. She wont walk on a leash so i just carry her and set her down. Like in petco or something. I have already bought a harness. The smallest i could find but it wont fit her. I am going to start using it asap.

just a funny idea...you could always get one of those enclosed strollers for cats.

I wanted to get one but my husband said he didn't want his wife to be the joke of the neighborhood.

How did you know what size to get them? I've been thinking about getting a dog harness as well, but don't know what size would be appropriate.

I did end up finding extra small dog harnesses but they didn't fit... and for 10.99 each they sure should have.... hehe both of my kittens seem smaller then they should be so I am guess I just have to wait for them to grow into them.... they didn't seem too worried about them.... although they both chewed on them because they were too big I think the were ok with it.
