We were out of moist food so we decided to take a trip to Petsmart... and I decided Jordan should go too... he's more sociable than Baylee and I'd seen a cat in there once or twice.

Well... I completely forgot how much he hates car rides... he yowled the whole time. We got there and, poor thing, he was nervous... he likes to be held upright, with his little paws clinging to our neck like a baby. He was meowing for a bit, then he was stopped and just hung on to me... DH decided to put him in something similar to one of these:

to see if he'd like it... he wouldn't come out. That was... fun.

Anyway, I think we need to work on getting him used to being on a leash and being in a car... that being said, he was better in the car on the way back (on the way there he probably assumed he was going to the v-e-t) except he was panting but when he came home he wasn't thirsty or anything.

Oh and we ended up getting something similar to what's above, except it has a mini scratching post and then a platform on top. Baylee WAS just on the platform, but now she's on the bottom so we think she likes it.

Sorry so long-winded but I thought I'd share...

Sunshine and Basil were in Petco last Halloween for a costume party. They won some toys. It was fun.
They love the little glass cages with mice inside.

Well Ari, that was brave of you!
It sounds like he'd get used to it, though, if he went more often.

How fun!
I'd love to take mine to Pets at Home, but I think we would just cause chaos and probably be escourted from the premises!
It's pretty much a dog and ferret area, so the kitties would have a fit!

I'm sure Jordan will get used to it the more he goes and at least he gets to help choose the presents for him and Baylee!

That's what always bothered me, Sarah... that you see tons of dogs at Petsmart but rarely cats. Once I saw a guy bring his cat on a leash... the cat was great, walking along the shelves, not freaking out.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
I wish I could bring LuckyGirl to Petsmart... but she isn't trained to walk on a leash yet... and I'd be afraid with the big dogs that go in there. God Forbid anything happened to her. Then I think, she might require so much attention that I wouldn't be able to concentrate on shopping... I would most likely get so side tracked that I'd forget a ton of stuff. I want to be able to leash train her to go outside with me...like for picnics & stuff... but right now she's really afraid of the out doors... like she's thinking "NO! Don't put me back in the wild!!!"

Poor Jordan.... what a stressful time for him.... but at least he got something great out of the deal!

Oh, I could never bring TTP&B anywhere like that, as much as I'd like too.
They act like they want to come outside with us, but when we harness them up and bring them out on a leash, they act petrified.....not worth it!

I know, that's how Jordan was!

And I hope people don't think I'm a mean mom for dragging him out there... he did okay after a while, none of the dogs scared him and I think he could get used to it.

Tiger and Reilly would FREAK!
I took Jake in the a few weeks ago and had to buy just about everything in the rawhide/chew toy aisle
He was mouthing EVERYTHING!

He enjoyed it and has learned that anything he puts his mouth on ends up his!
