The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Blu Bamboo haha sorry, Mark says the bar staff wear beach stuff? It sounds like a good laugh. I think the stag got just a tad drunk in there, he was on all fours and a bar maid was pouring drink down his neck. Just a little bit crazy...
My friend Sophie is as newcastle uni and is always asking me to go down to see her. The 3 of us could boogie on down at Blu Bamboo in our bikinis

One thing I am exceptionally thankful for is that my hubby is not a sports nut! He would watch a game in person, but never on tv. He thinks it's boring that way and I totally agree!

He was always more into dirt bikes and 3 wheelers.... still is....

I will never understand the whole "football" thing..people are crazy..there are riots and police and violence..What is wrong with "football fans"?

The reason I put "football" in quotes is because IT'S CALLED SOCCER PEOPLE!!

Being from the states I honestly thought that you were talking about American football. Unfortunately World Cup is not that big here, but it is baseball season and many a man is getting excited about that.

Its weird that the States isn't big on the World Cup, I am just in Toronto and yesterday you could barely walk down the streets with all the partying from Spain winning

We're not into the World Cup here in London either...It's probably because everyone thinks it's supposed to be real "football" on, and then they change the channel when they see SOCCER.

For you SOCCER fans over the water .......USA is in this World Cup but unfortunately they lost the last game 3 - 0 to Czech Rep, is it anything to do with the SOCCER v FOOTBALL issue ? ? ?

I don't watch ANY sports. Yep ladies, there ARE guys out there that are not sports nuts, but very few who are willing to admit it for some reason. I for one, will admit it to anyone. I hate sports!! Not that I would have the time to really watch them even if I did like it. My cats would never let this happen

Well I hope you were´nt offended by my post either, its was a real question, is soccer v football a bit of a hot potato in good old US ? I imagine real sports fans having long debates about the whole thing over a beer or two, or has my imagination gone a little too far !!

I don't know how anyone else feels about it, but I always just thought it was weird that soccer is called football in other parts of the world.

Since we have two threads on the same subject, I've merged them.

I don't think professional soccer really "registers" much in your average American's mind. It's more a school sport, and I've also heard people say it's more of a "girl's sport".
Of course, baseball is practically unknown in Europe, and ice hockey and basketball don't get near the coverage they do in North America, although there are professional leagues here. There are some minor "American football" teams that get no coverage whatsoever.
