Is there something I can put on the electrical cords to stop Tuffy from chewing on them? I mean something that will leave a bad taste in his mouth to break him from doing it? I am affraid I am going to come in the house some day and find him dead from biting through a electrical cord. I keep stopping him from doing it and telling him "no" in a stern voice but he don't listen.

I know you used to be able to buy, at Radio Shack, thin plastic covers for wire (with a slit down one side) and we used them to keep our rabbit from chewing wires - whenever he tried to chew them they'd just sort of collapse and wiggle around under his teeth, making it hard to get a good grip, and are even more trouble for cats. Radio Shack's closed now tho', so I don't know where to get them, but I'm sure they are carried somewhere (they look like coiled black phone handset wire, only a bit fatter.

Go to Petsmart or Petco and get a bottle of the Bitter Apple spray and spray on the cords (won't hurt). No home with pets should be without it. I used it on cords when I had kittens - they NEVER chewed on cords! Works good too on your shoes to keep a puppy/dog from chewing them up
