How many people here read the nutritional profiles before buying the food?

I do that, and it drives hubby crazy. LOL.

I always do, more then once, I'm rather obsessed with it. It's gotten to the point where I have memorized certain aspects of certain foods. -_-

OK......I have one cat who is on the Science Diet C/D food for the rest of his life because of PH levels & crystals. I have a second cat who is eating that as well. She doesn't have urinary problems. The vet just told me that it can't hurt for all 3 of my cats to eventually be on C/D food. I would have thought the vets would prescribe something that was good for my cat. So what is wrong with C/D? And if I didn't give Ansel C/D for his PH levels, what other choices do I have to feed him as far as a maintenance food is concerned?

To Pudge's mom.....how did you become aware that Pudge had was allergic to corn?

I always read the labels because Napolean's food allergies are so bad.

sharky: I'm the same. I've got word/excel/notepad/website files made and saved for all sorts of different diets for different animals. Just today I made a list of higher quality diets that are chicken based and not so "rich" for dogs to transition onto from a lower grade food. To either stay on, or work their way up to richer foods.

C?D is usally an easier Rx to get a regular formula for ... what did kitties eat prior to?? Nutro and Purina make Urinary tract formulas that were tested to make sure they work for that issue but you would need to talk with a vet

sharky: Sure I'll send it! I'll PM it to you tomorrow as it's on my work computer. I too get such questions asked a lot, so after typing it over and over I just decided to type it once and save it, lol. I have my little "library."

SophieC: Have you looked into the Wysong RX diets? The ingredients are usually superior to those used in other prescription foods.
