Due to quarantine specifications where I am moving I am required to vaccinate my cats for Feline Panleukopenia virus, Feline viral rhinotracheitis (herpes) , Calicivirus, and Chlamydia psittaci. whew! what mouthfuls those are!

But my question is regarding the safety of these vacs. One of the vets at the clinic my girls go to made a strong statement AGAINST the feline luekemia vac as a cancer-causer.

Has anyone heard of this before? I would appreciate any leads of information regarding this. As I said I am required, not requested, to have them vaccinated for all of the above but if there is some further safeguard I want to be aware before hand. (one type of serum better than another, etc)

I had so much quality advice when I asked about shipping my girls.....thank you to all who chipped in!! We will be enlisting a professional carrier who will escort them via air cargo. THANK YOU all!!

All the vaccines you are talking about are standard vaccines cats should get every year. There's the 3 way or 4 way vaccine. The 4 way just has the Chlamydia in it. The Panleukopenia is the feline distemper. There really isn't a large risk at all. It carries the same risk as the rabies vaccine such as a injection site sarcoma. The leukemia is not required for HI and I only recomend giving the vaccine for outdoor cats at high risk.
