Now I remember why I foster cats.

I am doing my homework(yuck!) & having a hard time getting motivated. I'm tired, I've got laundry to do, dishes to wash, litterboxes to scoop, litter to haul out, two tests to take, lawn to be mowed, a ditch to be cleaned, cats that need attenion, dogs that need to go for a walk. As if that isn't enough, one dog has surgery tomorrow, so I'm streesed about that. I'm trudging though my homework when Chico comes over. "Meow!" he says. He hops into my lap when I tell him "up"(he's trained just like the dogs). He starts kneading & purring....he then starts kissing my chin & face. He then gives me a bath.... He coils into a ball & falls asleep purring in my lap...
I don't dare move, even though I really have to go to the bathroom. I finally get up & move. When I sit back down, Chico brings his wand toy over, dragging it by the toy part. So, I play with him while studying for my test. Now, he is sleeping wrapped around my feet.

Now I remember why I love to foster cats. I hope no one ever wants these two, I love them so much! (IMO, they don't stand much of a chance of being adopted) BTW-I got my homework done & aced my tests! I think Chico's lucky!

Yeah, kitties are GREAT! I was on vacation for a week, and when I got home Garfield was all over me, and loving on me! Then today Will helped as I weeded in the yard, rolling over so I would rub his belly instead of pulling weeds. And he kept rubbing over and under me. Too bad I can't teach him to pull weeds, too. And tonight my foster Sarabi is doing head butts and belly flops. She won't get on my lap, but otherwise is totally lovey to me!

Cats always have a way of making you forget about the "important" things and remembering the REALLY important things
Chico sounds like a very special boy

in a pile of open toed shoes!
You know, I honestly believe that cats can sense things...like stress, or emotion in their owners. It never seems to fail, whenever I get down, and feel like life sucks, there she is rubbing into me, kissing me like crazy, and being extra affectionate. Like she just knew that I needed it. Usually she is mainly daddy's girl (except for meal time, cause I'm the only 1 who feeds her!). And she really knows how to make me feel better!

I have suffered from serious depression for years, and I know my kitties know when I am having a time with it. They will both curl up around me and purr. It's wonderful to know that I am loved, no matter how bad I feel.

That's really sweet! They're pretty special little creatures aren't they?

I can have the most stressful day at work and know it will all melt away when I go home and see mine. They always make me laugh!

My older sister suffers from severe depression/dysthymia(both, I think) & has for years. She wants a cat so badly, but is scared to get one because it will die. IMO, all the wonderful things they do for us are worth it. If only I could convince her of that...
