I'm new to the forum as a poster, but admit to being an occasional lurker for advice & information. I have 4 cats of my own - all were someone else's at some point in their lives, but now they are all mine. Jingles was adopted from a shelter by my mom, but had litter box issues. She would have gone back to the shelter, but I took her instead. After quite a bit of hit & miss, I think her problems are finally solved. Henry & Julio are 2 of the many neighborhood cats that I have taken to the vet over the years to have spayed/neutered. Most cats disappear soon after I have this done - I'm assuming they head back home; however, these 2 boys stayed. Sally was my uncle's cat. When he died at age 92, his immediate family was going to send his 10 yr old cat to the shelter - can you imagine??? So now she is mine and at 13, just as spry as the younger cats. Not sure on the ages of the other 3, but I'm guessing they are much younger. I also have 5 dogs and work with a small, all-breed animal rescue in southeastern Indiana, which is how I ended up with 5 dogs.
Thanks for all the help I have gotten her in the past from others posts and for the help I hope to get in the future. I have much more detailed knowledge of dogs than I do of cats. Cats seem so much easier to care for than dogs (at least my dogs) and all of my cats get along beautifully even though I know I did not introduce them properly. Except for the litter box issue, which was finally solved with a strict prescription food diet, none of my feline companions has ever been anything but a joy to have in the house.
