I post on a dog message board as well as this one and a person on the site said there is a small young kitten that has recently popped up in her neighborhood. Her dog wants to "eat" it, her neighbors want to shoot it and her husband refuses to let her take it in to help it because he is wary of cats since he was attacked by one a few years ago. So kitty is in danger and she wants to make sure it is safe but she cant take it in or hold on to it in any way. The only thing she can think is maybe if she can catch it take it to the shelter...which I think she said is a kill shelter. She is in Orlando FL... any chance there might be someone who could help or give an idea of some sort?

in a pile of open toed shoes!
That's so sad. I wish I was closer to help out. I wonder, is there anyway she can try to keep it outside since her hubby doesn't want it in the house. Like an enclosure or something until a rescue group/no-kill shelter or someone will take it to a vet.... that may be an idea. Like a dog house, with food/water, bedding etc. I dunno, just a suggestion.

I dunno, she said its a friendly bugger though. It jumped right into her arms for some love. She said she believes its another unwanted dump as that tends to happen alot at the end of her street.

Yes. A dog crate works OK as emergency room. the cat can be there several days without big problems. A way to buy some time.

The crate should of course be cleaned so it dont smells dogs...
