If possible...I would feed both wet and dry. Nutro Choice Kitten food is a good brand, I see it has Chicken Meal as the first ingredient. I always prefer to look for brands that have "chicken" as the first ingredient.

That is what I am feeding my pregnant mom, Sneakers. I think it is a good quality food... smells a lot more like "chicken" than Iams... and by-products are not even in the list of ingredients.

I have heard some say that they prefer to feed only wet food later in the pregnancy so that she doesn't get constipated as easily, but unless you are home to feed her 4 to six times a day, I think it's best to leave out some dry kitten food as well.

(By the way, my other cats are gaining a little pudginess since I started leaving out kitten food...LOL Don't worry, I'll have them back on normal food once the kittens are gone.)

I don't think it's harmful, but as she gets larger, she may appreciate having more easily digested food.
Pregnant kitties and humans get constipated and all sorts of indigestion very easily.

I prefer both... Also I think the wet was easier on Skittles after the birth... But she nippled the dry a few when she was nauseated...

Out of necessity my cat got a mix of dry kitten food and dry urinary tract health food, which all the cats are still eating. She got wet food occasionally, but not much. She had five healthy little ones that are gigantic at 8 1/2 weeks now, and Mom is healthy as a horse too.
