I'm looking into building a better mousetrap when it comes to litter boxes and litter management. I was just looking at some of those custom litter boxes that look like furniture. I noticed there was no liner. So I have to ask.. All of us cat people use liners for their litter box don't we? I also saw litter boxes for sale that had no tops. Anybody manage the litter without liners?

I have two BoodaDome boxes. The curved ramp keeps the litter in the boxes. I don't use liners, either, just scrub and bleach once a week.

What do you do with the litter? You pour it into the rubbish? With a liner we just twist it up and throw it out as a unit. I never realized there were linerless boxes. I have the same problem with the cats clawing at the liner.

I use a clumping litter and scoop twice a day. Then on Sundays I toss all the litter and start fresh for the week. Also I pay attention to the level all week and fill if it's getting low.

I don't use liners either-just put litter in a garbage bag & out with regular trash-have 3 boxes I rotate-wash & bleach the one in use -fill one of the others for use.

We don't use liners either. The litter just goes into a trash bag and out with the trash.

We also do not use liners. My cats just tear them up and then their litter is full of plastic.

I've never used liners. I use clumping litter and scoop twice a day into scented nappy sacks. Until recently I just dumped them in the bathroom until I could take them outside but now I've bought a litter locker. Still using the nappy sacks for now but I put them in the litter locker rather than dump them on the bathroom floor. I clean out the whole tray about once a fortnight (scrub and disinfect) although sometimes it's less often than that. I fill the tray quite deeply so the waste doesn't really touch the bottom of the tray. I change the tray every 1-2 years as plastic absorbs smells no matter how well you clean it.

No liners, no box covers.
I scoop twice daily into teeny sealable plastic bags and toss 'em in the garage garbage can.

I tried using liners but one of my kitties kept scratching at it and playing with it so it ended up just making a big mess! So for now I'm going without liners and I just throw the litter in a garbage bag and toss it in the trash. I think I may try liners again sometime though, I really like the idea of them!

Just type litter loskers in the browser, and then you can get compared prices, I can't remember
but online is cheaper then petsmart or the other ones, I buy the refills online also there about 1/2 price but 1 lasts a good while, there work great keeps the oder away

God, we do a complete litter change every day, costs us a fortune. If it's too dirty for him he won't use it, he's so fussy, although maybe we've made him that way!

I used liner with first cat-was given one to try from my friend. He ripped it apart and half the litter was on floor. Never used them again. I use rubbermaid storage totes for thier litterbox so doesn't matter anymore. RJ

I scoop daily, don't use liners, nor does our box require bleaching. I use Arm & Hammer clumping, and it works so well for me that the box never stinks unless she's just dropped a fresh one!

Oh, also, there is a high side attachment that connects to the box to keep mess to a minimum, but I do not have a cover on it. I read a LOT of articles that stated that cats prefer not to use covered litter boxes - the covers are more for humans' sense of asthetics than privacy for the kitty.

I don't use liners either, I tried once and it made a bigger mess
all my boxes are covered as I have a dig to China cat and without the lid I would have litter everywhere! I scoop once a day, I have 4 cats with 4 boxes right now and thank heavens none of mine have box problems
so everyone's happy
