Words or Phrases that evoke vivid images or feelings...

Ok, this might be a weird idea for a thread, but I thought it would be neat for people to post phrases or certain words that evoke vivid feelings or mental images. You know, those words you say, and every one is just like "Oh, ugh, I know that feeling" or "I know EXACTLY what you mean". I know I am sounding kooky, but for example, when you say 'nails on a chalkboard', every one cringes in discomfort, EVERYONE knows what that sounds like or can imagine it!


Here's mine...Complete Menstrual Agony! Haha, only the ladies can identify, but I bet they know exactly what I mean.

Or... the sound of an alarm clock going off too early in the morning...ugh!

Got an appointment for my annual physical *cringe*.

Burning your tongue on your coffee or other hot food or drink...ouch!

How about "Honey where is the _______?" This usually means that I am searching for something with my husband for the next hour.

Things that go bump in the night!

How about when people say, "You know, I have this rash...." And you're like, Ugh! I know exactly what you mean!

"your appointment for rootcanal is at 12:30 monday"

cue cringing and sweating and wringing of hands and trying to think of a plausible excuse to cancel.

My grandma says that whenever we're so busy doing things during the day that we hardly talk or see one another or are just plain frazzled .

"Oh I just stubbed my toe"

Oww, that hurts so much, I cringe just thinking of it.

I gotta go to the bathroom..
