Feeling SO broke......:( - Page 2

I've just dealt with $5,000 in unplanned emergency expenses (root canal & crown, car repair, motorcycle repair) within the last 3 months that I had to pay cash out of pocket for, with NO room in my budget for them - I don't even want to talk about it.

I feel the same as you do. Every moring going to work I tell the kitties I have to keep them in kitty kibble that's why I work. With my rent and my car payment I feel so crapy about even buyig myself food if it takes me further into the hole. I know it my not be ideal but foodbanks are there for a reason and the humaine socirty helps people out that can't afford to feed their pets somtimes. You might not be that broke yet but the foodbank can save you the added stress of spening more money. Good luck

I am so glad other people are broke too. I only make about $400 every 2 weeks, and honestly I don't know where it all goes. By the time I pay rent (which is $100 off every cheque), buy food and pay for gas its gone. I have pawned off a lot of stuff (cd's, dvd's..etc) just to have some money. I am glad that I work at Subway where I get free food/drinks whenever I work. Last year we had an apartment that was $750 a month ($800 in the summer because of the air conditioner) and I worked at Tim Hortons and my boyfriend worked at McDonalds, and we basically ate what the food bank gave us, and we bought our cats the biggest bag of cat food that we could find that was cheap. It was horrible. It's not as bad now, but its not the greatest. We are thinking about moving to London (Ontario) soon if my boyfriend can get transferred there because he just found out this weekend that you can make a lot more money at Telus there than you can here.

Wow you really are working with a tight budget. I feel like we live comfortably. I just worry about when something happens and we get behind on a payment for something. Like Lee wrecked my car and we had to buy a new one and we got behind on the mortgage and I was FREAKING out. I know they aren't going to foreclose for 1 month mortgage but I still hate it. I hope you two can get better paying jobs so you can live more comfortably!!

Yikes! Ours is $450 - not bad for our area - and our utilities are included

I'm waiting for the day when we get our 1st house and we pay payments like that!

It all just depends on where you live. We pay $985 for a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath. The guy I used to work with moved to Brooklyn and pays $800 for 1 bedroom! and he might have to share a bathroom with one of the other two guys he lives with!

You are so lucky to have your own home! John & I are looking... but around here, the prices are SO high, its horrible! And I'm not going to buy a house that I can't see myself living in for a LONG period of time - so I'm not going to buy a home until I find the PERFECT one!

Until then, renting it is for us!

Don't you just love when your property taxes, car and home insurance plus all your regular bills come due all at once. That is the time to take a deep breath and I check the couch for coins that might have dropped down.

I think we all feel that way at one point or another!!
