MY 1 yr old cat i adopted her about 2 months ago and every since i got her her butt has leaked. As in when she will sit down on the bed or you pick her up she leaves a white residue on your hand. I am just curious to know if any of you in here know anything about this. I have called the vet but cant get her in til 2 weeks.

So if someone has any idea please help me out on this cause it is really starting to worry me.

Hi Mazzy, I'm not sure if this is the same kind of thing, but it sounds like it, - some kitties need to have their glands in that area "expressed" I can't remember why now, but I'm sure someone here will... sorry I can't be of more help - if I remember anything else, I'll let you know

Hi Mazzy,
1) Is the white substance smelly? really smelly?

2) If you look at her rear, do you see the same substance coming out of two spots on either side of her anus?

3) Is the white substance paste-like or liquidy?

If the you answered yes to the first two questions it is probably her anal sac glands that are either overactive or impacted and infected.

Try to see if there is redness, soreness, or leaking from either her anus, anal sacs or urethra (where she pees out of). Also maybe there is a another vet that has an earlier appt.

Let us know how things go.. .
