I just wanted to introduce my new kitty, Odo. After Spot passed on two months ago from a heart problem, Willow became lonely. I knew I wanted to find another senior boy to keep her company. I spent about three or four hours at one of the shelters yesterday before I found this boy (shelter name: Inari). I have renamed him Odo after a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine character. (Spot was named after a cat on Star Trek: Next Generation.) He's between 10 and 12 years old.

He seems to be settling in to the small bedroom okay (a little better now that I took off the cover for the litterbox so he can't hide in it. My other cat has pawed at the door a bit, and Odo doesn't seem very happy (he hissed at the door), so I think I'm going to have take introductions very slowly.

Welcome Odo! How nice of you to take in an older cat. He's beautiful I hope the introductions go smoother in the coming days.

He's adorable, I hope he gets through the introductions and to the best part, settling in to his new forever home with both a good human and good cat companion to enjoy.

I've been addicted for quite some time, actually. As soon as I got the pictures of him, I had to come here and create a new signature! He's actually very camera shy, and I don't want to stress him too much too soon.

The introductions are going well. Very few hisses. They came nose-to-nose this morning and then backed off without any hisses or swatting. I'm keeping them separate when I'm not home for now. I may let them roam tonight together (last night I kept Willow in the bedroom with me and let Odo roam).
