I just came from the annual used book sale at our main library across the street from my office. Today's the last day and for $5 a bag you can fill it with as many books, CD, DVD's and videos that you can carry. I got a bunch of paperback mysteries, a couple of cookbooks, two cat books (of course!), two CD's (one by Sara Evans that I've really been wanting), and several other books. Not a bad deal for five bucks. It was a book lover's paradise. I could have stayed a lot longer if I didn't have to get back to work!

Does anyone else love books?

I am not an avid reader...but I do love nicholas sparks' books...

I actually go to my library 3 times a week but I go to rent the movies
...since they are free and they have a huge collection at my library

I love having a look round the american book stores when I visit as you have stuff we don't.
What are you reading right now?

I do... I devour them! Seriously, I read way too fast and can get through a book way too soon, sigh...

I am definitely a book person, I fly throught them, too. I read DaVinci Code in about 5 hours, where it took my husband 5 weeks. Also, I don't know if anyone else does this, but I can wait a few months and reread. Even though I know the story, I still enjoy it and pick up on details.

Does anyone read The Cat Who... series by Lillian Jackson Braun? Those are my favorites!

Absolutely love books! I'm a fantasy and sci-fi person, but I'll read pretty much anything. I have trouble staying in books as I also can go through one in a few hours.

I love the idea of a Reading Circle Thread... that would be fun!

Same here, my BF STILL hasn't finished the DaVinci Code where I read it over a few days on the train so probably 5-6 hours.
I always reread, I would cost myself too much if I didn't

I love books too! I like the mystery/crime books....like Patterson, Tess Gerritsen, and true crime by Ann Rule. And every now and then I can appreciate a love story by Nicholas Sparks or Richard Paul Evans...

I am a definite book lover. I own probably 1000+ and I tear through them so I can never go to the bookstore and buy just one. I mostly read sci-fi, fantasy, and the occasional horror novel (like Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, or Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series) as well as historical fiction and biographies.

Because I like to re-read books later, and I have a sort of "collector's mentality" with them, as far as that I like to get all the books in a series and keep them, I rarely trade in books at used bookstores and the like.

Fortunately, my hubby and I like to read the same kinds of books, mostly, so we can share them!

Love Stephen King!!! I have every book that man ever wrote. I use to have a book case in my hallway with nothing buy his works on it, but my girls said their friends found it kinda creepy.
So I put them in storage.

I love Ann Rule's books. Got a couple of her paperbacks at the book sale this morning. I just wish I had more time to read. I'm reading a really good mystery right now - "Clean Cut" by Theresa Monsour and can't wait to get back to it.

A reading circle thread sounds like fun!

While not sure I'd want to join a reading circle, I do love books and one of my greatest fears is being on a plane or long trip and 'finishing' a book and NOT HAVING ANOTHER!
This love of reading has helped my hubby out, as he always gets me Barnes & Noble gift certs for holdiays & B-days and I always use them up quickly. As for what I read, it's usually fiction or travel writing, and if I like one particular author I will go out and buy up everything they've written.

I used to have a 1,000-book limit, which meant that once the bookcases in the living room, bedroom, study, guest room, and attic were full, hubby started throwing them out. Now we're up to a 2,000 book limit, since we bought more bookcases, and I've been a bit more careful about sorting them into "Keep", "Keep, if possible", "Get rid of only if necessary", and "Dump" categories. I love non-fiction (true crime, history, and biographies) and mysteries.

I love reading in general. It doesn't have to be in a book form.

Book lots on ebay (sorted with the same author or the same category) make a lot of money. You don't have to ditch books if you have too many
