Well I get Felix on the 23rd. Felix's dad is an SBT and his mom is an F3, so I'm not sure if that makes him an F4, F5, or SBT. He's flying in from Sacramento, and I'm picking him up in Palm Springs (I live in Pasadena). I was wondering if there's anything I could do to make it more comfortable for him. Like take some treats or something to give to him on the car ride home, or maybe a ball or toy or something. I know it's going to be super stessful for him, and I want to make it as easy as possible for him to adjust. I already got everything for him, I took some pictures (you can see them below) and I was wondering if there was anything else I need.

I live in my room, which is seperated from my dad's house. My room is not very large (14"x16") so I'm gonna need to take him on walks like every day, I'm also going to build a cat run and buy him one of those 9-level cat condos to put in front of my window in the future. As far as the walking goes, he's only going to be 12 weeks when I get him, so I was going to ask what kind of collar and leash you guys would recommend for a 12 week old (I probably won't take him on a walk for the first week or so). I feel bad for him being trapped in my room, but I am going to do my best to take him out as much as possible, and who knows, maybe he'll like it in here.

Well that's all I can think of right now, if there's anything you guys would like to add feel free. The pictures of Felix are in chronological order so you can see how he's grown. I'm just hoping his eyes turn into green instead of yellow (I love green eyes on anything, but I will love him either way).

5 weeks

7 weeks

8 weeks

9 weeks, for this one, the breeder tried to show me the glitter in his coat by having direct sunlight hit his coat, but it didn't turn out too well

And here's all the stuff I bought him (sorry, the was too large at first)

He's beautiful! The kind of halter that will work best is a figure 8 rope halter. This is because most other halters don't get small enough for such a young kitten (I learned this through trial and error). The figure 8 rope kind can be made itty bitty for a small kitten and then adjust easily as he grows. When he gets bigger then you might get an H-halter.

He is an F4 SBT. My kittens will be the same, the girl I have is an F3.

Wow thanks for the heads up. I've read that for adult cats, the walking jacket is perfect. It's kinda stylish too

I'm sure you all know how annoying and stressful the waiting process can be. 13 more days and he's mine though. I'm going nuts

I'm going to get one of those 9-level ones fully equipped with a hammock as soon as I can afford one

It's a shame they're going to change. It almost looks like they have already changed, or have begun to change at 9 weeks, and they look pretty green, but I can only hope.

My cats have every cat toy known to man and these are their favorites:

Cat Dancer (a piece of cardboard attached to a piano wire -- but for some reason cats go CRAZY over this. Other TCS members can testify to this I'm sure)

Da Bird (better than other feather wands I think because the feather seems to "simulate" flight when you whip it around)

Circular Ball track -- here's an example but there are many different kinds:

Cat tunnels like this are also good:

Also, since your kitty is confined to a small space, I would recommend getting a window perch and if you really want to make it super entertaining for him, put a birdfeeder outside your window. I live on the second floor of an apartment building, but I found a kind that I can suction cup to my window. Droll Yankee bird feeders are the best because they come with a lifetime guarantee. Here's a site with plenty of bird feeders to choose from:

Lastly, I would get the cat tree as soon as you can. I think some people on this site have found some good deals on ebay. If you want cat tree recommendations I would ask around on TCS.

Good luck!

You my friend, are a genius! I never though tabout the bird feeder outside of the window! I was thinking about getting a window perch, but I was planning on putting the cat condo in front of the window, but maybe I can put it next to the window perch. I bought him "Da Bird" but I accidently got the two piece rod, so I had to put a VERY thick coat of superglue on the part where it comes together.

I've looked at the cat dancer but for some reason I never thought the cat would pay much attention to it...it looks like I might have to reconsider
