I just recently brought home a kitten named Cosmo. He's 6 weeks old..yes I know to early but the woman wanted to get rid of him not to mention he's happier at our house cause we got rid of his fleas..the poor guy lol. Anyways he has kitten food but I also have another cat Zoe who is 1 yrs old. She eats her adult food but lately she has been eating Cosmo's and whenever he's out of the bathroom (I don't like to leave them unsupervised just yet) he goes for her adult food and eats it.

I've been putting her food up high when he's out but pretty soon there won't be a place he can't reach and then what do I do? My husband says we should just give them both kitten food but I want to be sure Zoe gets the right nutrition balance so any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I would defintiley second the Felidae all life stages... it's made so that it has enough nutrients for the adult cat and kitten. That might be just what you need

I have the same problem with my cat and kitten! I thought my guys were just weird! So its ok for them both to eat kitten food? I don't like the whole "all life stage" foods either and the kitten is growing so well that I don't want to switch his food. Of course, Petunia is growing well too-- wider, that is!

Talk with your vet if one is getting wider , you may need to go all stage which is adult that was tested on kittens ...

Most of the top brands do not make kitten formulas at all. Their foods are formulated to be suitable for all life stages. I would recommend looking into a food like Innova or California Natural for both of them.
