Thanks everyone for your help with my recent dilema of a mother cat who was not physically able to care for her kittens. She spent every second with them, but without the ability to produce milk and my delayed realization of that fact, they just did not make it.
The last one hung in there and I was able to feed him pretty well, but part of it was my fault for not realizing just how much that little body needed to consume to keep going.
So at about 6:00 pm tonight the last one passed on literally in my hands as I was trying to keep him going. Amazingly painful to see isn't it?
As soon as the mother is able, we'll take her to our local vet to be spayed so this does not happen again.
Thanks again.
