I have a cat which i took to the vet because she started to leak out milky liquid from her vaginal area. She got out awhile ago and think she may be preg. She was leaking off and on for a week, week and a half and now she is spotting blood. The vet didn't tell me anything, she thought she could feel bumps but wasn't sure. She is eating and drinking fur is shiny and she very affectionate. She doesn't look to be in much pain and I am very worried for her. Anyone think she is in labour or if she has that very bad infection....the vet wanted 400.00 but i can't afford it. Please help

The vet said if she were in preg to abort.....and once again i couldn't afford all they wanted to do. Does anyone think she may have live babies?

approx. 1 or so ago....she broke the patio screen and i noticed too late....maybe longer than that. It's so hard to tell, however her teat's do seem slightly fuller and lately she loves her belly rubbed.

I would get her to the vet immediately. Most vets will work with you regarding payment if you show you have good credit, or a good payment history. I would suspect perhaps that your cat might have pyometra, and untreated, this can turn quite nasty and even claim a life. My suggestion, get her in as quick as possible for a spay.

I agree it sounds like she may be having premature labor. Kittens cannot survive if born more than a couple days early, let alone a month early. Is there a low cost clinic in your area? They might spay her and take care of the problem. If you wait to long she may become infected and that would be horrible
Please let us know what happens

Toopsy....she does need to see a vet...there really isn't anything that can be given without first consulting the vet. Will your vet accept a payment plan where you pay the same amount each month??

no....they want all upfront and it is impossible to come up with that kind of cash. i took her to the vet on may 30th the day after she started to leak the milky stuff. I paid the 52.00 and she told me nothing. They wanted to do a spay surgery if pregnant to abort, 100.00 for 10 minutes of surgery anesthetic, and that didn't include blood work and pre-anesthetic. She saw the fluid but all she said she thought she could feel bumps not sure and wasn't to happy with the discharge but she wouldn't give me any idea's. It was just yesterday she started to have blood in it. No signs of kittens she stopped leaking for now. It's sad in all my life we never had a problem like this with our cats.

Could she have pyometra?

Is there another vet that you can go to? Below is a list of low cost spay/neuter clinics...I would call and see if they can see your cat:

Call a local rescue, call all the local vets and ask for phone numbers to any and all rescues they know of. They usually work with vets that are a little more compassionate or they may have some funds to help you out.

not sure about the other leak she had, but I know one of my females years ago started dripping small spots of blood so I rushed her to the vets and they said her uterus was infected (never gave the name but from here now know it was pyometra) and she had to have an emergency spay done. If I had not had it then she would have gotten VERY VERY sick and fast.

GL with getting ahold of someone that can help. IK it is hard when there isn't any money.

Does your vet accept CareCredit? You can apply online and they will give you 3-6 months interest free to repay vet/other health bills. We had to do this recently.

http://www.carecredit.com/

Our vet gave us a brochure about it because they do not accept partial payments either. So the third party helps a lot. They have brochures and info about payment plans.
