Oops, I missed Ryan's last two questions!!! Ack!
Let me remedy that...

11. Last tv show I watched was 'The War At Home'...funny stuff.
12. I like talking about my sweetie, Conner! Either that or psychology...it's like talking 'shop', I love it!

Lata macaroni n cheese head!

I'm caught up with this thread now. Both entertaining questions and answers. I'll just ask a few simple ones:

1. What exactly does "lata mash potata" mean and why do you use that phrase?

2. If you explained it before, I missed it: What does your username mean?

3. Are you more likely to be on the giving or receiving end of a dutch oven?

Alrighty...for Ryan's Q's:

1. What exactly does "lata mash potata" mean and why do you use that phrase?
I got it from a friend of mine, instead of saying 'goodbye' or 'see ya later'...."Lata Mash Potata" rhymes and is so much more upbeat, lol!
2. If you explained it before, I missed it: What does your username mean? It is a shortened version of the word Sanctuary. I am the type of person who can handle anything, kind of 'the rock in the midst of the storm' kinda thing.
3. Are you more likely to be on the giving or receiving end of a dutch oven? Umm, we're talking about the thick metal cooking pot, right? Are you asking if I'd rather be the person putting food IN the pot, or if I'd rather be the pot? LOL. I'd choose to be the 'giving' end, pots are boring.

And now for Karen's...

What was the last thing you ate? Turtles Candy..yum!
Favorite type of cake? Yellow cake with chocolate icing...best kind there is!
What song, when you hear it, makes you stop everything, turn it up and dance and sing along? Ooh, challenging one...we'll go with Fever by Peggy Lee!
If you had to live somewhere other than Israel, where would it be? Umm, Karen dear, I don't live in Israel, isn't that Anne? Hmm, if I had to live somewhere other than TEXAS, it'd be Washington.
Where did you go on the last vacation you took? To the Gaudalupe River...it was a camping trip.
What is the oldest thing in your refrigerator? How old is it? Probably the mustard, it's prob over a yr old, lol.
Best gift you ever received? I am sentimental, so I really loved when one of my good friends made me a photo book with little descriptions of memories we made together. The book documented an entire year of my life, this past year up to Feb (my bday). It was a hard but empowering year for me.
Worst gift you ever received? Someone gave me a stuffed whale inside an empty mayonnaise jar once.
favorite flower? Sterling roses..they're a purplish grey color. Pretty! I like orchids too, bright red please!
what is your favorite piece of jewelry? I have this funky black necklace I wear alot. I like weird ecclectic jewelry.
What color is your bedspread? It is a gorgeous brocade look with deep reds, golden yellows, browns, etc. It has pretty threading and details, it kind of looks patchwork in a way with tiny yellow threaded flowers. (though it's not floral at all)
what color shirt do you have on right now? Eggplant!
socks? No thanks, only when I work out. I'm wearing heels right now, I'm at work.
Favorite candy? Hmmm, M&M's.
What is your best personality trait? My versatility, I can roll with the punches no matter what's thrown my way and have fun with it all the while!
Your worst? Can be pretty cynical sometimes, especially about human nature.
Do you play a musical instrument? Used to play the french horn!
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Both when the time is right, lately I've been an insomniac though! During the semesters it's the opposite, I am up at 4-something and headed to starbucks, lol.
What is one thing you spoil yourself with? Honestly, high-priced waxing and wine. Lol.
What would you do if you saw a unicorn? Never tell anybody! I wouldn't want to lose the magic!
Are you easily offended? Not at all when it comes to personal characteristics, but I am offended by racism and racist jokes easily, although some don't think I should be since I am not a member of a minority group, but I think it is any decent human being's right to be offended by stupidity and hate.
What do you usually drink with dinner? Sometimes wine, most the time just water.
Are you ears pierced? Anything else pierced? Nothing pierced at all, no tattoos either. It's cool but not my style, I'm a natural kinda gal. (as I say with my dyed hair)
Do you usually drive:

a. under the speed limit(by how much)
b. the speed limit(why?)
c. over the speed limit(by how much)
--this one. Prob by about 10 miles or so.

Favorite fruit?
Toss up between blackberries, pomegranite, honeydew melon, or black plums. Kind of broad range huh?
Favorite vegetable? Ooh, lots as well, lol. I'll go with cucumbers though.
What's one thing you have always wanted to do, but never have? Learned salsa. I really want to, and one day I will, I am going to learn ballroom dance as well hopefully!

Wow, great Q's guys!!!! Thanks, I need a rest, lol!

Just so you know, you don't have to choose someone for the next spotlight until Sunday night or early Monday morning. Your choice. It's better to start spotlights at the beginning of the week. More questions for Stevie...

1. What do you notice about people's behaviors because of your education in psychology?

2. What part of being a psychologist of any kind do you think would be the most challenging?

3. When does Connor talk to you the most? What do you think he's saying?

4. Which animal reflects Stevie the most?

a) bear
b) hedgehog
c) rabbit
d) giraffe

5. What's the best movie you've seen lately?

6. If you drop something delicious on the floor, what do you do?

a) pick it up and eat it anyway
b) leave it on the floor because it's too gross to pick up
c) pick it up and throw it out
d) blow on it, then eat it
e) You've never had a floor because you're living in an astral plane with no boundaries, so you call your therapist when this delusion is over.
f) crouch to the floor and yell at the piece of food to "Get the heck up you sissy piece of food you!!!"

Okie doke Ryan, I'll pick some one on Sunday!

As for your new barrage of questions...
1. Oh, psychology has made me a people watcher to be sure! I can better judge when people are lying. Instead of just seeing someone's actions, I tend to see their motives, reasoning, and emotions behind the actions, lol. That can be a pain. I guess for me, it has just made me a bit more intuitive. I always want to know what people are thinking!

2. When I first begin I will be working in the emergency room dealing with rape and abuse patients under the age of 14. Enough said, right? Dealing with children who have/are suffering so much will be a heartbreaker. Then later on I will work with children in a pediatric hospital...then I think the death and dying preparation will be the hardest thing to deal with.

3. That darn cat doesn't shut up, what are you talking about! Lol. No, he talks the most when I first get home, it is quite obvious that he is griping me at and giving me a talking-to after being gone for so long and leaving him home alone. But he is very responsive all the time, whenever I talk to him he talks back.

4. Umm, I dunno weirdo, lol....I'll go with the giraffe. (but the hedgehog's a close second!)

5. Um, the new movies I've seen really didn't impress me much (XMen III and The Omen). But I watched Dead Poet's Society for the first time recently and I really liked it!

6. Ooh, now this completely hinges on whether or not I have more of whatever the food is. If I have a whole plate/bowl full, I will just toss the fallen piece in the garbage...if it's the only piece and my floors clean, darnit, I'm picking it up!

Alrighty Aphrodite, thanks for your questions today! They were fun!

OK, I've only got one question:

If you and Conner were in a "freaky friday" mix up and switched bodies, what would you do in Conner's body and what do you think Conner would do in yours?

Nice rhyme and excellent answers.

1. Did you know that Stevie is just an anagram for "eet svi?"

2. Has your education in psychology ever reflected difficulties you had in your own life?

3. What have you learned about psychology that helps make you own life better?

4. If Connor had a human job, what would it be?

5. Did you ever get in a fight at school?

6. Do you ever turn off your educated awareness of how people behave when they're around you, or is it always on? 6½. Do you wish you could turn it off sometimes?

Ooh, good question!
If Conner were in my body, he'd play outside all day long with out a leash, lol. With opposable thumbs he'd be able to better get into all kinds of trouble! He'd probably order pizza with all kinds of wacky things on it, rearrange the apartment to suit all of his cat needs rather than mine, and he'd cut a big whole in the bathroom door so that when I go in there he could easily follow instead of just meowing like he's got mad cow disease and throwing a tantrum outside the door. Lol.

If I were in his body, I would let myself not have a negative body image for one day! Lol, I would rejoice in being chubby, roll around selfishly in the sun spots and be petted, rubbed, and catered to all day!
Sounds like a plan!!!

Let's see...
1. Stevie an anagram for eet svi? Nope, I can say I surely wasn't aware of that Ryan! I don't know what I'd do with out you, I should be taking notes!

2. The difficulties I faced growing up help me to identify well with the field I've chosen, and I feel my experiences will strongly aid me in being a better psychologist, but they are not the reason I am doing this, but then again, I'm sure they contributed, as all our experiences in life add new dimensions to our decisions, choices, and paths that we set.

3. Knowing the kinds of traps that people let themselves fall into, like denial, regression, lying to one's self, etc. keeps me from doing those kinds of things. If I try to do any of those things, I am aware of what I am doing, so they don't really work anyways, lol. I've also learned what kinds of things I use as defense mechanisms and comfort clutches and such. And once you are aware of things and know this stuff, well, knowing is more than half the battle to me. You can't unlearn what you've learned ( or at least I can't) so it just makes me really self-aware and in tune with my own thoughts, actions, and reactions.

4. If my little Con-artist had a human job, he'd be a high-profile theif, lol, like the NightFox guy in Ocean's 12. He'd steal the unattainable things, and be all classy and artsy and arrogant I think.

5. Nope, not at school. A couple confrontations, but no real fights. With my razor edged tongue, there's no need for physical violence, lol.

6. It's not like I'm always text-book catogorizing people and things in my head, I don't do that. And I don't always try to find hidden agendas where there are none, I have just gotten more sensitive to reading people. I guess I don't really ever turn it off, but it's not that bad, really. I do tend to pick apart myself though, and I am constantly re-examining and challenging my thoughts, beliefs, and goals...over-analyzing everything, which can be a real nuissance sometimes. But I guess we all tend to have our own quirks!

As always Ryan my dear, keeping me on my toes!

Hi Stevie!

Whats your favorite thing to do in the summertime?
Are you an outdoorsy kind of girl?
Would you ever be on the Real World, if given the chance?
What would you do with 1 million $$?!
How much on an average are you on TCS?
Have you ever met anyone from TCS? Would you, if there was a meet up?
Whats your favorite snack food?
Have you ever riden on a motorcycle?

One last question....
If you were on a deserted island with ONE person and ONE personal belonging, who and what would it be, and why?

Have fun with the rest of your spotlight!

11. What's a subject you're glad we didn't ask about?
Eek, I thought I had skimmed by pretty well recently and ya'll caught me at the last minute right before I could choose someone new! Sneaky little devils you....

Ok, Mack...
Hi Stevie!

Whats your favorite thing to do in the summertime? I love doing things outdoors, so this is a toss up between river trips or themeparks!
Are you an outdoorsy kind of girl? Oops, lol, *see above question*!
Would you ever be on the Real World, if given the chance? As fun as it might be, I would not. Being on that show would truly damage my credibility in my career, and I couldn't be away from Conner that long anyhow!! Lol.
What would you do with 1 million $$?! Well of course I would buy a lovely house, a beautiful classy car, pay off all of debt, cover grad school expenses, and put a giant chunk in the bank to collect interest. I would travel, do all the fun things I've always wanted to do, host a HUGE TCS gathering for ALL OF US, and put a lot of money into shelter work, both human and animal!
How much on an average are you on TCS? At least twice a day to check, but on the days I have time to stay around awhile I will lurk all day!! Beware! Lol.
Have you ever met anyone from TCS? Would you, if there was a meet up? Unfortunately no I have not and I must express my bitterness about that, lol. I want to meet so many people that aren't even in the same half of the country as me, and many aren't in continent, lol. Yes, I would meet up with members as long as it was with in my means!!
Whats your favorite snack food? How dare you try to make me choose just one! Lol, I love food and I'm a sweets fanatic. I guess I'll just say cookies, but I always love chips or veggies with ranch dip (the kind you make from the packet, yumm!).
Have you ever riden on a motorcycle? Yes ma'am, but it's been ages, at least 10 yrs ago. I would love to ride one again!

One last question....
If you were on a deserted island with ONE person and ONE personal belonging, who and what would it be, and why?
Ooh...MacGuyver and a stick of chewing gum, he could get us off that island in a jiffy! Lol. Let's see, a serious answer...hrmm...I guess I would say one of my best friends, either Josh or Chris. I work well as a team with both, I wouldn't get fed up with either of them, and they are both pretty ingenius when it comes to being in binds like that. I would want to have my cell phone of course, but if that's not plausible I would want my pocket knife.

Have fun with the rest of your spotlight!

Thank you!!! You're questions were great and I had fun with them!

And now for the wubulous Wyan's questions....

1. Um, I dunno, I do pilates so I have a good range of flexibility, you do some crazy poses in there. Check out a pilates tape and you'll see what I mean!

2. Yeah, that's a negative. Lol.

3. I can't choose just one okay! I love blackberries, pomegranite, black plums, honeydew melon...and the list goes on!

4. Sun block and cute sandals! Sexy, I know! LOL!

5. Well that depends on the circumstances, lol. I am a fatty so I will choose eat it!

5.5. This would be the only way I would be wearing the whip cream, lol.

6. Ya know, honestly, I don't think I have ever asked that, lol.

7. Hrmm, most delicious meal recently...Yesterday I had herb crusted chicken with baked new-potatoes and fresh green beans...followed by strawberry cake...YUM!

8. Worst feeling I've had recently...utter confusion about everything I want, and oddly enough seeing as I'm a very confident and secure person, I had a few feelings of inadequacy here recently.

9. Last time I was mean to someone...Gosh that's a hard one, I am not a mean person at all. I can be moody and snipey sometimes, but I don't hurt people on purpose almost ever. Hmmm, I guess the last person I was mean to was over a month ago. I went to a bar that had huge unisex bathrooms. It had urinals on one wall and stalls on the other, and it was packed. Can you imagine chillling in line with guys just peeing everywhere and everyone crowded in there,,,yuck! After I had came out of the stall and pushed my way to the sink to wash my hands some drunk guy was trying to grope my hip and say rather ungentlemenly like things he considered to be compliments. I grabbed his hand at the wrist and shoved him away letting him know in my most disdainful tone that I thought he was pretty pathetic for trying to hit on a girl in a public restroom and he must have pretty low self esteem. Lol.

10. Last time someone was mean to me...I don't know. I am trying to think, but I just don't know...hmm. If I think of something I will come back and fill this in. Sorry.

11. My love life, lol. Nah, JK, I'm ok with it!

Thanks Ryan for your more than interesting if not a little odd questions!!!
