Harley's 1st birthday is next Sunday
- and I was wondering if anyone out there had any recipes for a kitty edible cake?

I want his birthday to be super special, and I wanted to make him a fun little cake for him to enjoy!

Thanks!

Well I feel special that you would call him Reilly, considering how gorgeous Reilly is!

How about muffins? I have a recipe for kitty muffins:

170 g. cooked, diced chicken (about 1/4 lb.)
170 g. cooked macaroni
1 asparagus stalk, finely diced
1 tablespoon cooked liver, chopped
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons ricotta or cottage cheese
1 teaspoon corn oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, grated

Preheat oven to 190° C (375° F)
Thoroughly mix all ingredients except for the grated cheddar cheese
Fill a well-greased muffin pan (for 6 muffins) with the mixture, top with the cheddar cheese, and bake for 20 minutes.
Allow to cool before serving.

I usually give Jamie something he really likes to eat on his birthday, like shrimp, crab meat, or tuna (for humans). Vanilla-flavored quark or yogurt usually goes over well, too.

You're welcome! I hope Harley likes the muffins - Jamie much prefers Black Forest Cake (but he doesn't like chicken).

I hope he does too! He eats anything and everything so, I'm sure he'll enjoy!

My kitties get a tuna cake for their adoption day (they're all rescues, so we don't know their birthdays)...I just open a can of tuna, carefully dump it out so it stays in the can shape, and stick a candle in it. They love it
.

(In case anyone gets upset...I know tuna isn't good for cats on a regular basis...tuna is a special treat they only get on their adoption day and Christmas.)
