I'm a little sad.......
Rob and I have been discussing adding a second furball to our family. Nakita really needs a friend and I'm sure she would love a playmate.

So I've been looking through our local cat rescue and came across this adorable kitten....Jane Austen. Here's the link...just scroll down to the end of the page...Jane Austen. I just fell in love with her the minute I saw her (of course look at all the other cuties on the page...especially the orange kittens ).

So, I've been debating on whether to call and ask about her. We are continuing our home renovations and I'm worried that Nakita may not get along with her. I figured a kitten would be a safer bet on bringing a new cat into a household regarding territory issues.

This morning I woke up and heard a kitten meowing its little head off right under my window! And I mean m-w-o-w-i-n-g
I've barely seen a cat around here never mind a kitten. So I go running to the window and you wouldn't believe it.....this kitten looks exactly like Jane Austen!! It looked to be around 3/4 months old and is running all around my backyard meowing.

So I go scrambling to get some jeans on and I grabbed some dry food and some water. By the time I went out the kitten was gone.
All morning I've been outside looking for it and what worries me is that we live on a very busy road with lots of traffic.

Was this fate? Then why can't I find this kitten. So now I'm just a little sad because it felt like fate seeing this kitten outside my window and now *poof* it disappeared.

Hope the little one is safe...

That is very distressing!. Do you have any neighbours you could talk to to inquire about the kitten you saw?

Make sure you click on her picture as well everyone to make it bigger because she's stunning!!

I'm a firm believer in fate, but the problem now is do you wait to see if the kitten comes back or go ahead and get the kitten at the shelter?!.

Oh Kass

Jane Austin is gorgeous!

The kitten, outside, sounds like s/he was looking for a home, maybe if you leave some treats outside, s/he will come back? It really would be a wonderful situation if kitty came back!

Sending many }}}VIBES{{{ that little kitty comes back to you!

Kass, if it's fate, the baby will be back. Just leave some food & water outside - if she's a stray, she'll find the food.

Sending lots of vibes that the little one is safe...

Its fate!

Jane Austen is a sweetheart - I'm in love with her and all those kittens on the site!

Maybe like others have mentioned - if you leave some food/water out, she will come back?

Sending good vibes for the little kitten!

I've left food out since this morning. It was just weird how she just *appeared* out of nowhere and then vanished. Meanwhile, I have never seen a kitten here before and I find it odd the one time I'm looking to add an addition to the family that little one shows up.

I even had the thought that this kitten was dumped in this area and that is why she was so frantically running around and meowing. It's as if she was in a brand new location.

I really hope she survives. I'll let you guys know if there's an update.

Jane is a doll!! I'm crossing my fingers that the kittten will return! Have you tried sitting out somethin really smelly, like tuna or wet food?? Maybe she is hiding nearby and wouldn't be able to resist the smell of good mushy food? Good luck!

I hope the baby is okay. I wouldn't be surprised if she hunkered down under a bush or something. Hopefully the food will lure her out.

When I made the decision after I lost Sheba to get a older female cat from a rescue organization I was excited!! However I didn't get any good vibes from had she had except for this little kitten that kept on crawling up my leg!-That beast (Bakker) will be two year old July 1st. But I have 2 strays that I feed outside too!! Good luck on your decision.

All of the kittens on the page are too precious!
I fell for little Minnow myself. Is it the grey?

Kass take some of Nakita's soiled litter and sprinkle it outside- near it but not that close, leave out the food, and a little distance beyond that, a cardboard box with soft bedding and some catnip sprinkled on the bedding-

I hope she comes back! I know that if I found a stray kitten I'd be just as frantic to find the little dear as you are. I'm sure she'll be back.

Put out some wet food and/or tuna! That should get the kitty running back!

As for the meowing... it could be a male looking for a female, or a female in heat.

ANYWAY! I do hope you find this little sweetie! If not I hope you are able to get the one at the shelter!
