So there is 4 ladies that work in my office. My boss takes one of us out for coffee every day. This week, one of the ladies is on vacation, so there is only 3 in the office this week.
So, Monday I went for coffee then Tuesday and Wednesday the other two ladies went..and now that its Thursday I'm thinking sweet its my turn again because one would think thats how it would be fair right?

Well, everytime I'm thinking its got to be my turn...he picks another girl (usually the same one who we think is his favorite). I try not to let it bug me, but its obviously my turn to go and he ALWAYS picks her over me.

I'm really not trying to whine about it, but I can't help but think what the heck is wrong with me?! And I am really sensitive to begin with so I keep feeling upset about it.

Awww Natalie, try not to let it bother you. To be honest, I'd be horrified if my boss asked me to go have coffee.............I'd think I was being fired!

Me too!
There was lady who worked as the book keeper in our office about 2 years ago. My boos brought her out to lunch a few times, but it was so he could have a "talk" with her about her attitude towards our clients.
I told him if he ever invites me to lunch, I am not going!

This is ovbiously not the case in your situation, Natalie, but try not to let it get to you. You can come have coffee with me
We'll get mocha fraps from Starbucks, with whip cream and chocolate syrup!

I wouldn't be too worried about it Natalie...every boss has their favs in the office, I wouldn't take it personally...she's probably just a big bum kisser!

I know it can be difficult not to get worked up about it but you've got us to have coffee with and we have tonnes of doughnuts, cakes and biscuits to go around!

Oh and the only thing wrong with you is that you intimidate your boss with your amazing looks, intelligence and humour and he's only taking the other girl to console her that she's no where near as cool as you!

Aww, Natalie

I can see why you'd be upset, but I wouldn't take it TOO personally - I'd be afraid if my boss asked me to go out for coffee!
I'd be afraid of what other peole would be saying and/or I'd be afraid I'd be getting fired!

If you still have your job, and your doing it well, I'd be happy!

I hope you feel better about the situation soon - besides, no one likes a butt kisser!

Woohoo, my boss asked me to go for lunch with him...That is only good in our office, it doesn't mean I'm getting canned or anything

I lent him my roadmap, and he's like "thanks, I'll buy you lunch"

I love free lunch

in a pile of open toed shoes!
I get that way too some times **sad pathetic voice alert** "poor me, I'm being left out"
I like to have my own little pity parties sometimes...but I'm the only one who comes!
Then I give myself a swift kick in the you know what! And I'm over it! It really sucks though if you all feel your boss plays favorites.

Free lunch! Free lunch! Free lunch! Free lunch!

Although, my boss is a total tool. I wouldn't wanna go to lunch with him!

Hey! Lunch is even better than coffee! Too bad for that golden child!

anyhoo, yes I understand about the golden child ALL TOO WELL. It was widely known and practise in the last office i worked in (no matter how much the managers denied it).
One manager preferred short (5'6 and under) and size 0-2 clothes. They could ALWAYS get what they wanted. In fact some of the other employees used that to their advantage. If the boss denied them, they'd tell the shortest thinnest girl to talk to him...sure enough he would grant it!

The other manager just liked blondes...no height requirement. He made a comment one time about needing to earn your stripes with the company and I responded "So I need to get highlights then?"
(No worries, he did have a sense of humor about it and denied it better then the other manager). Within months of him coming on board, all the people on his team where blonde.

Lunch was so goooooooood. We went to Wendy's and I had a classic burger combo with a baked potato. I am stuffed.

Yah thats right I ditched you guys to get some delicious REAL food...not that cyber food, it tastes awful. lol.

I guess my boss loves me after all

That situation sounds a little awkward. So, some days you'll feel left out while other days you'll feel great because you had lunch with your boss instead of coffee. If your boss catches on that it leaves awkward feelings behind, he may decide to quit doing it altogether to treat everyone equally. Then there will be no free coffees or lunches. Don't sweat the small stuff.

According to my husband... the zoo
I actually did get fired once during a "coffee outing"
Two weeks later they called to ask me back.

I can certainly understand how you feel. Even when we are grown ups, it's hard not to take things personally.
