My one Momma cat, Tabby, has just went over the deep end. Yesterday she was fine and today she thinks her name is "Killer". She attacks every cat she comes close to. First I thought it was because her babies are now 30 days old and up and walking. She has no milk so I took over their care. She has total access to them and is never restricted. Now, on the other hand, I have her in a cage for the safety of the other cats. She's due to be spayed in 2 weeks. She has 2 daughters already and didn't act like this in any way. Any ideas?

Has she been seen by a veterinarian since giving birth? As she has no milk I would suspect hormones gone awry or some other medical issue.

She went in to the vet. Nothing is out of the ordinary. She has small amounts of milk. I keep her from the babes for about an hour longer then usual and she has enough milk by then, plus, they are weaning. She has now attacked 2 of my male cats and has ripped her eldest daughters ear wide open and drew blood from her and me. She's due to be spayed in 2 weeks. If that doesn't help her out, then I don't know what to do with her short of kenneling her for life.

Thanks for the help.

You might try a Feliway plug-in or diffuser. If you aren't familiar with it, it releases kitty pheremones which helps calm cats down. They're kind of pricy, but many people on the forums have used them with excellent results in situations like this.

I suggest Feliway too, the plug in and the spray. Maybe buy a few, look at how much area they cover and buy enough for every room she goes to.

I already have those in place in each room for all the cats. I just have no idea where this aggression is coming from. One day she's the same as usual and the next she goes psychotic. If I pet her and keep her from seeing the boy cats and keep the rest from making any sudden moves, she's fine. But something seems to snap as soon as she sees a boy or one of the kitts moves suddenly.

My cat started acting really aggressive right before her spay. It turned out she had LOTS of ovarian cysts, and the hormones being released were just making her crazy. Plus she was biting us whenever we touched her - because it hurt!
