Sorry for the horrible subject title I couldn't think of what else to call it. I have three indoor cats from the same litter who are all indoor cats. I have 1 male black/white named Neo, 1 female black/white named Rogue, and 1 female calico my roommate named Ugly. Neo has always been more of a loner and he tends to play too hard so the other cats get mad when he tries. They don't fight but I can tell it is definitely a stop it cry. Meanwhile Rogue and Ugly love to play and go at it. I regularly find them cornering each other and wrestling. These two always seemed to stick together even so much to sleep in the same area.

Neo after multiple blockages had the PU surgery and I kept them seperated for a week or so while he had the collar on and the stitches in. Once he had the stiches out I kept him seperated for a few more days just to make sure he was fine. Once I let him out of the extra bedroom the other cats had no real reaction to him which was a little unusual since the calico usually freaks for a few days after a vet visit. Ever since I usually have found Neo and Rogue sleeping together at night and Ugly off by herself. Is it normal for cat friendships to change?

There's no place like home
They are littermates and they have been with each other since day 1. Even though 1 cat may stay apart from the others, it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't bonded in their own cat-like way. Perhaps Rogue senses that Neo had some trauma and is simply trying to comfort him during his recovery.

I find my cats changing who they hang out with all the time, but I have 10 that live indoors permanently and so they have a lot of choices. I don't think what you are seeing is unusual.

I just thought it was odd especially since this is the first time in 6 years they have behaved this way. Even now thinking of my mom's 7 cats they tend to be friends with one or two more so than the rest and it never changes.
