Black light to locate urine

am i stupid?? I first tried the light on a already soiled pillow to see what i am looking for, and i see no difference. Does this need to be in a totally dark area???
I see no difference w/ light and i tried it on something that was soiled???

Anyone use this

Yes, it must be pitch black, with no other light sources, for it to work. Probably best to do it at night.
