Vacation ???

I know Susie had started a thread a while back about vacations, but has anyone decided on a summer vacation since then?

We are thinking of either Nova Scotia, or doing one of the wine trails along the Finger Lakes in New York. The gas prices are scaring us a bit though, and we could decide to stay a little closer to home,

Anyone going somewhere fun?

I was supposed to go to California in August/September, but I no longer am friends with the girl I was going to go with, so there goes that vacation!

The only vacation I'll be taking, is back home to see my family (which I go every 2 weeks ) but thats okay!

I think me and my friend from work are going to plan for a trip this fall tho, to NY or somewhere good like that - granted I have the $$! I really wanna go somewhere!

Maybe I'll take a TCS trip and visit everyone

Zack and I just discussed yesterday that we want to do a weekend get-away since we haven't had any real quality time together since Christmas, we've had a really rough year so far and think that it'll be nice to have some romantic time So, I think in mid-July after both weddings are over, we are going to head over to the Hill country (New Braunfels area) and have a relaxing weekend at a B&B by the river.

Jeff and I only plan on doing day trips this summer (were saving up for our honeymoon in December)

Well this weekend I'm going to fly down to Washington DC to visit some friends of mine.
Then July or August I will be going to Colorado to visit my sister.

I still would love to do one big trip (Trans-ocean type) before I start up school this fall.

Well, we took a mini vacation to TN last weekend. Depends on how things go if we go for a week anywhere later in the year. I want to go to the ocean, but we'll have to see about that.

We just got back from our vacation (to Hungary) yesterday. I'll be traveling to the U.S. in August, but that's more a "family visit" than a "vacation", as I spend most of the time working on/in my mom's house, getting her pets their annual exams, and taking her shopping, etc..

Nothing but a couple day trips planned so far!!!
But if anyone is headed to the Green Bay, WI area let me know-I have spare bedroom!!!

I take my vacations in October, when the weather is cooler and the colors are brilliant!

Me and the boys are going to California in August so they can put the cross on Ortega Hwy for there dad...

We are leaving for Las Vegas this weekend!!!


Flying out sunday morning.
We are leaving here saturday and staying overnight close to the airport and leaving the car there at the hotel.
They take us to the airport and pick us up when we get back. (no airport parking rate)
Our flight is really early and its a lot cheaper to fly from a major airport about 2 & 1/2 hours away.

Wish me luck! Not so much in Vegas, but getting on the plane without hyperventilating! I do not like flying! In fact if I think about it, it terrifies me. Soooo.....anyway, it will be worth it once we get there.

Thankfully my poor overwhelmed and overworked brain will get quite a few breaks this summer. I think if I didn't have any I wouldn't be able to make it through the rest of the summer semester!

In July I'm going on a couple of small weekend trips. My boyfriend and I are heading to GA to stay at a place called Hostel in the Woods. You stay in a treehouse and get to do all sorts of interesting things. We'll be there for half the weekend and then we plan to head to Savannah for the last couple of nights, maybe even stay in a bed and breakfast!

Also in July I'll be heading to South FL to meet my boyfriend's family for the first time! EEK! It makes me nervous, but at the same time I'm REALLY excited to meet them!!

Early August I'm roadtripping to Vermont with a good friend to stay at her family's lake house. I've never been there so I think it should be a VERY good time! Plus, the entire trip is free for me so I certainly can't complain!

Lastly, the one I'm MOST excited for, I'm going on a 7-night cruise with my best friend and also my roommate! We're heading out on the Carnival Miracle towards the end of August to Costa Maya, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Belize!! I absolutely ADORE cruises and just CAN NOT wait! We just made the final payment yesterday so it's starting to feel more real now!!!

If I can get someone to house/cat/dogsit, I may manage a weekender or two.


For now, an ocasional overnighter in a local hotel will have to do. Summer is the off season and Tucson's resorts have some fantastic weekend rates. For the moment, I even have someone to go with

I am planning on going on atleast a 4 day weekend $$ permitting. Lee's racing schedule is making me angry a bit though because that take $$ from vacation and I desperately need one! I just want to lay on the beach. Plus if he does get the job in Germany in Sept. I want to have enough vacation time to go and see him for a month!

well we unfortunatly are well and truely into winter here so thats why I have taken 2 week long trips up north to the sunshine!! first I went for a week of drinking wine with my 2 best friends up to the whitsundays (I took Jaz but Chris stayed home) and then a week later Chris, Jaz & I went further north to a place called 'port douglas' for a week

now I am back in cold melbourne

I'm off to Barbados for a week on Saturday, with my S.O.

The only thing that makes me sad is leaving Villy for a whole week

I have a cat sitter coming in twice a day to look after her, but I hope she's not lonely or sad

We are going to Aventura Spa Palace in the Riviera Maya in Mexico for our honeymoon. We will be leaving July 13 . I can't wait!!! I'm adicted to tripadvisor.com to make the most of the trip!

We're headed back to Arizona to spend 10 days with my mother-in-law. We'll be relieving my sister-in-law and her husband, who live with her and have had to handle all of the care for my MIL and FIL, so they can take a vacation and get away a bit. I wouldn't call it fun, exactly, but I adore my MIL, so it shouldn't be a bad time.
