Veruca had 7 kittens!

I think it took around 2.5 hours to deliver them all. I was hoping she'd stop at #4, but to my shock and awe, 3 more came after that! That's a lot of cats to find homes for!

Anyway, Veruca and kittens are doing fine. She came out of the cubby this morning to eat her wet food and walked around a bit. She didn't mind my husband and daughter looking in a her babies. She still seems very friendly.

I have to start researching kitten care now! Kitten #4 seems very aggressive. Not in a bad way, just in the "I'm getting this nipple first" way. Kitten #1 is the smallest. It seemed like the kits got bigger as she delivered. But with a litter of 7, they are all pretty tiny. They look like a pile of hamsters!

Wonderful news! Just make sure the biggie doesn't crowd the others out. I usually would guide my littlest one once in a while to a nipple because she'd get crowded out.

More babies, yay!!! Seems like everyone is having kittens right now!

Congrats on a smooth and uneventful delivery!! I love it that we've both had our kittens come within so close to each other!

Congrats to you too! I was actually reading your journal right before I laid down with Veruca last night. I was wondering if you were up with yours last night too!

They are all black except 2 have some white markings on the face, belly, and legs.

I will keep an eye on that. I noticed "biggie" was also staying closest to Veruca. All the rest were piled together and he/she was with mom. At one point last night I had to put the one nearer to the nipples. I was nervous about touching it but I don't think Veruca noticed at that point. When I can tell them apart easier, I will be able to be sure the little #1 kitty is growing.

Congratulations!! I would love to have kittens, but until they find a way to, I'm not going to have much luck with two male cats. I would love to see some... pictures??
