We have a 4 month old persian mix kitty named Angel
, and she has REALLY bad gas! And it really stinks! It smells so bad that the scent actually "clings" to things, and makes us almost want hurl.

I have tried so many things to try to relieve the problem, yogurt did not work at all, it seemed to almost make it worse, I've tried 2 kinds of natural enzymes, and they worked at first, then stopped doing anything.
We feed her premium edge dry kitten food. We do not give her any other food, or canned food.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and can someone please suggest anything else that might help, or tell me why she might be having this problem? I mean if it smells that bad coming out, I don't wanna know what it might be making her tummy feel like!

Has kitty been wormed?? If so when and what was used ??

The other option is that her food is too , you may need to try a simplier food... I happen to be quite fond of Premium edge, but with multiple meats and grains plus veggies it is quite rich

Daisy used to make some vile smells, this was for the first six months that we had her. I asked my vet about it, she was on a fairly bland diet to try to reduce the smells. The vet said it could be stress (she had been rehomed twice already and hadn't had a very settled life). The problem did go away eventually once she settled in to our house.

No she has not been dewormed, I wondered about that, but when I looked over that section it seemed like most people were saying they did not deworm unless fleas were a issue? She has strickly been indoors, but do you think she should be dewormed just to be safe? Will deworming her just upset her tummy more? It's so hard to check a her waste for worms once it's in the litter, you can't really tell.
If you think I should deworm what brand do you recommend?
This is actually the second type of food she has been on, originally when we first got her we had her on nutro natural choice, and we thought maybe that was too hard for her to digest, so we switched it to premium edge-so it may be hard to digest too?
As far as stress, I would hope she's not under any now, it's just me and my husband. She was under alot of stress when/before we got her though, and apparantly the previous owner was ownly feeding her canned food!!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts & advice so far! I appreciated it.

She's young, and most kittens have worms... have you taken her to the vet to get her vaccines and a check up? They should have wormed her if you did. If not, get her to the vet. She's old enough for distemper and rabies shots, I think FELV too. The vet will worm her with drontal or strongid.

Do you have her on current flea control? Even though she's indoors, you bring fleas in on yourself from outside. If he has fleas, all she has to do is eat one to get tapeworm.

I posted a few days ago about my kitty having the same problem. I took him to the vet today and he has worms. He was dewormed at the shelter, but sometimes one time doesn't do it. So the vet dewormed him again and gave me another dose of the meds to give him in 2 weeks and then we go for a recheck. Hopefully this will work b/c i am really grossed out by this.

She has already had her shots. But, she was not dewormed when her shots were given. It sounds like that just might be the problem though.
Also, I am curious, how can someone "carry" home fleas? Would they not have to be around other animals with fleas, or walking through flea infested grass? There is no grass at my apartment complex-I live in the desert, and I do not go around animals with fleas.

Fleas are all over... they are parasites. You could walk down a sidewalk that a dog was walking down, the flea hops off the dog and onto you. You can get them walking through grass. Most kittens have fleas unless you got your kitten from someone who is so responsible they treat their cats for fleas but don't spay and neuter and let them get pregnant.

Not to mention whether or not you're keeping up with flea control. It really surprises me they didn't deworm your cat when getting shots considering most vets do it even if the pet isn't specifically showing signs... most puppies and kittens need to be wormed, more so if they go outside, but it's just a good precaution, fairly cheap and safe.
