I got 2 new kittens over the weekend, and took them to the vet yesterday. They got their first vaccine.. but my question is.. I have two other cats that are almost 3 years old, and have had all their vaccines since they were 6 weeks old.. can they catch any diseases from the kittens like Feline Leukemia.. or anything else?

congrats on your new kittens....FELV is only spread through deep puncture wounds...so I wouldn't be concerned about that..the only thing I would keep an eye out for is either 1. a URI or 2. ringworm...both of them can be easily spread between cats. If the vet gave these 2 kittens a clean bill of health...then I would simply monitor them to make sure they do not develop a latent URI.

oh no did I mix it up? I thought FIV was the one that is only spread through deep puncture wounds, and FeLV was the one that is spread through things like food bowls and litter sharing as well as biting. I told someone that, did I mix the two up??

Yes.....FELV is the one that is harder to spread.
